It's interesting, if one uses phone cards (since it's usually a much better deal), then the calls made will not appear, and consequently can not be used as proof of the conversations for the interview, by the fiancee!

I ran into this dilemma a few weeks ago when preparing for the direct filing in Sofia.  I ended up taking a stack of dead phone cards.  I explained to them that I called her from work frequently because of the time difference and didn't have any phone records.  They accepted that explanation with no problems.
