Hey Y'All,

I was just reflecting on the fact that I have been participating here for approximately 2 years on this board. Not sure exactly - but it has sure been a while - sometimes it seems much more than that --smile--.

In that time, we've seen numerous guys and gals make appearances here - some have a bit of staying power - some are merely transients - and a few are continuing posters to the board for long periods.

I was also thinking about my experiences on some other boards - and how it is similar or contrasting to this one at P-L.

For me, this board has been a Godsend. When I've had questions about something that was new and unfamiliar to me - I could come here and post a message and find an answer on nearly any facet of the FSU - including the women --smile--. At times, it has been an outlet where I could complain - occasionally blow off a little steam at someone (a few regrets on this point) - and generally feel an accepted member of a virtual community.

My principal point behind this post is simply to say to everyone that we really do have a terrific resource here - and we should be grateful to Patrick and to regular contributors that make it the valuable resource it is.

There is no other board that can boast the huge percentage of regular contributors with real experience **IN THE FSU**. When I first arrived, there were only a handful. I still recall being mightily-impressed by the historical knowledge of JohnK, Lynn and Jack. Of those, 2 are still active on this board and even JohnK pops in once in a while.

In that time, numerous guys have made the decision to take the plunge and visit. Think about the sheer number of people posting here that have actually traveled and have first-hand knowledge of some parts of the FSU. It is a VERY high percentage of posters - and a very large number of people contributing their diversity and range of experiences. Nowhere else can you find this sort of broad first-hand knowledge.

Lately, more and more guys that started here unmarried - and are now married to ladies from the FSU are contributing their experiences. For the longest time, KenC held the distinction of being the "Married Guy" that filled us in on what to expect AFTER she gets here. While still one of the most appreciated members of our little community, he is no longer alone.

I sure cannot forget the importance of the women that have been in our midst over the years. RW stands out for her common-sense and no-nonsense responses to many of the questions that come up here.

[Speaking of no-nonsense - LP defines the very terms "logic" and "analytical" -- and a couple of others come to mind as well --smile--]

Does anyone remember Tatiana or UkieGirl?? Both added excellent perspective on the object of our pursuits - the ladies from the FSU.

And we, of course, must not forget Amerikanka. How unusual - to have an American woman, amidst an environment of periodic vigorous AW-bashing on this forum - choose to provide us her valuable insights of living in Ukraine for many years. I am still in awe of the self-confidence and restraint she showed - and her overall knowledge of life in Ukraine.

Wow - the list of contributors is huge. Jack and Dalton (or should I say "versus" - it is only a joke guys --smile--). Quasimioto - WilliamGO - DE - JonF - zink - Leo - Oatmeal - Rags - Dmitri - JohnCC - Greg - mdante99 - wsbill - BubbaGump - mdm - Ramblin - hockeybrain - BobbyOrr - Go2Rus - Richard - StanB - time360 - jj - ron - Deckard  - MarkH - Jimmy - Vox - Cold Warrio - cherokee - yoe - BarryM - Keith - reagan - charles - Scaught . . . . I could go on for hours.

Everyone is contributing in their own way for the purpose this board was intended. We are increasing our collective understanding of the FSU in general, and of the processes available to us in pursuit of ladies from the FSU.

I just wanted to take a moment - on reflection - and thank all of you. Even the trolls. Without them, it would be far less entertaining around here on the weekends --smile--.

Sincerely - thanks one and all. I may not agree with every post here - but I sure do appreciate the motives and efforts and courage that most here demonstrate in pursuing this activity.

Olya and I send our regards to you and your families - and our wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving.

- Dan

A character going by the name "Dan" today started an unprecedented "love-in" at Planet Love, a notoriously argumentative and often feisty board.

Good post Dan,    :-)

Dan,

I appreciate the extremely helpful information you as well as other members have shared.  I am off to Kharkov this Saturday - on a wild adventure I will be happy to share when I get back December 5 or so (up to 2 weeks later because of the jet lag).  Although I have been over to Ukraine 1 previous time and Russia 4 times and have real loss of money with 4 different agencies (with 2 fiance visas that I have called off) I am happy to give my perspective.  I guess my perspective is pretty good on the paid services out there.  I am off to try another one - it is a long shot - and if this fails I will call Jack.

....."logic" and "analytical" -- and a couple of others come to mind as well]

Hey, what kinda crack is that? I'll be expecting some private clarification on this. -g-

I too have learned many things from this motley crew. Some priceless, some not so good I'm afraid. But life goes on and we're all just trying to do the best we can. Many folks would simply sit and spin, doing the old "woe is me" routine, but those here have the unique strength to try and do something about it. This alone sets us apart from the masses, who often fail to understand.  More power to us, I say.

As for you Dan, the least I can do for the poke above is to blow your horn a little, since you can't do it. I'm sure more will rightly follow, but you certainly deserve accolades for your contributions to our collective knowledge. I doubt there is a person here (lol..OK, maybe one or two), who doesn't respect your even manner, extensive FSU experience and thoughtful, articulated posting style.

Many know that you also provide valuable information on "another board", a sure sign of a man who wishes others to duplicate his success. One would think such a success would preclude continued participation in our little corner of Cyperspace but you choose to remain anyway. For this we owe you a vote of thanks and wish you continued happiness.

The rest of you? Well, other than a few dysfuctional, multiphobic personalities in a constant state of panic, the remainder are a pretty good bunch. We don't always agree, but the fact is I wish each and every one of you well and geniunely hope you find whatever it is you're searching for. If you already possess it, may your success continue for many years to come.

lol...Now, back to being those "couple of other things that come to mind".

LP,
Who is posting under your name here?  Waaay too nice to be the LP we all know!  I think reality is somewhere between your views and your buddy Yoe's.  Have a great Turkey Day.

....I don't know what happened there, a weak moment I guess. lol...Believe me, if it gets around I'll deny everything! :-)

You're absolutely right, reality always falls somewhere between extremes. I just don't want to see anybody get screwed, there's enough pain in the world as it is.

Happy Thanksgiving to you both also.

Geez, if only I knew in 1998, what I know now!  Unfortunately, I didn't discover this board until 2000.  For two years it was like plodding through the unknown alone, and than only by luck, I find this board with others who have also been through the process with different experiences and knowledge to share.  Thanks everyone!

Still learning!

Dan is right...Thank You Patrick and a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  As Dan said there is no other board even close to the quality of this one...and I have seem them all.  Rather limp.  There is such a bounty of experience here...so much real information...so much experience and knowledge that is willing to be tapped,  whether on-board or off-board.  There are a couple great Devil's Advocate's,  who will warn you...quite logically of the sharks in the water.  And the possible danger ahead.  One may not like what LP said...but caution--- take heed.  This is not a pursuit for the faint of heart.  Personally,  I have received so much great information here...that it is astounding.  Yeah!  Theres a brawl once in a while and some female bitter trowlbait---no big deal.

If I have a question about anything,  I can post it here and the very next day...I will have maybe 5 experienced replies...can't get that anywhere.  Couldn't even buy it.

There are those times of the year when I count my blessings....life is good for me.  The PL Board and all the good people on it is one blessing I count right now.  There are some absolutely great guys on this board and theres too many to count.  Funny,  I just heard there are very few turkeys in Russia and Ukraine.  Its time for me to begin cooking a big dinner...but thanks Patrick and to one and all.

                    Happy Thanksgiving,  Tim

Ps:  I got 2 Thanksgiving email cards---from girls in Ukraine and we never spoke of the holiday.

Dan, I second your sentiments.

I have learnt a lot on this Board.

When I joined the Board, a while ago, I was very skeptical  of the whole process. I think differently now.
I think the process works and works very well.
RW are beautiful women... in more ways than one.
