Fellas,

As I was reading numerous posts here on the board I noticed that mny people slip the following phrase in their messages : "Cali is still a good place to find...". The last caught was El Diabolo who post about his trip. So the question is why is "still" always embedded in this statement? Are there any changes taking place in Cali that deteriorate finding opportunities for newcomers?

I never studied economics, but I have studied psychology.

When Latina ladies have successful relationships with AM, wouldn't they report it to their sisters, cousins, friends, thereby eliciting interest from new "consumers"?

A significant percentage of the LW I've met say they have a family member or friend who married a gringo & is now living in the U.S. And that's why they joined an agency.

On the other hand, LW who get burned in relationships with gringos will also report those experiences, thereby discouraging potential "consumers".

Of course as the economic/security situation worsens in Colombia, I imagine there will be more women wanting to get out, and fewer AM wanting to visit, thereby increasing demand for (good) AM still further.

So of course, Cali is still a viable option for us.

The MORAL lesson to be drawn from this is that we seekers of love are all ambassadors for each other. So treat those Latinas nicely; you're doing all of us a favor. Or, as John Donne put it: "Ask not for whom the bell tolls... It tolls for thee."

I studied English lit, too. (grin)

I thought my reasons for using the term "still" were obvious and I'm really surprised you didn't pick up on it Kit.  Take a look at the previous thread directly before my trip report, titled "Back from Cali" and read it and the responses closely.

When I read it, it appeared to me that Bob101 and Tigre were of the opinion that Cali had been "picked over by a thousand gringos" and that as a result of this Cali was not as desirable as it once was or that other places may be better.   I think there is some truth to the notion that many gringos have passed through however despite this Cali is STILL in my opinion a great place to find someone special.  (Do you understand the use of the term "still" in this context?)

People should remember that Cali is a city of two million and for every gringo who passes through there are many different women for him to meet. To put this in economic language, the supply of women so far outweighs the demend (gringos) that despite the gringo traffic, many great women still exist.

If it is differrent in BQ & CGE when I go next month...yhen I can say for sure. It just began to feel routine (citas)...and from talking to some...there is a little bit of a negative stigma that has become attached to agencies in Cali, hence...maybe keeping out some higher quality ladies who don't want the association. I know that there will be a new agency opening soon in Cali with a focus on professional, employed and educated ladies with outstanding good looks...and very high quality digital photos...(ok, so I'm involved...so what?)
