K1 whats your responsiblity?

Ive heard alot of stories from men where a woman came over on the K1 visa and took off or the relationship just didnt work out. I know that you are responsible for the woman for the 3 months prior to when your supposed to marry but what happens past that point? If you decide you dont want to marry and the 3 months expire are you still responsible? DO they come and deport her? If she takes off are you still responsible for her? If things dont work out between you and she stays but not with you is it going to effect you in the future if you marry someone else from another country? Thanks in advance for any help especially from men who have been thru something similiar.
