Good information Vet!!  It's sounds like the hostel is only 3 blocks west of all the those disco/bars -- the one's as you come around the corner and on to Avenida Sexta going north.  That might be pretty near Colombo English institute also.  My novia attends classes there every night - 100,000 pesos per month.
