After a LONG visit to Barranquilla and Cartagena, and a hiatus in lurk mode reading all the posts on Cali, I feel it is my duty to put in a plug for Cartagena. Having focused more time in the tranquil(and sometimes boring) city of B/quilla, I too was truly unaware of the undiscovered treasure called Cartagena.
Having previously only taken a day trip to Cartagena with a Barranquilla ex-novia(now infamous for "flipping out" on a veteran LWL poster), I wasn't able to appreciate all that the city has to offer.
Just in terms of a vacation site, Cartagena has a rich and interesting history, with many sites of interest. NOW, add in the aspect of the ladies....and it is O-V-E-R!
IMHO, Cartagena has the most eye-popping, down-to-earth ladies that I have ever seen/met. Granted this may be biased by my preference for CURVY, Gorgeous, ladies in the TAN to DARK range. Can I get an AMEN?...Eddie, D.T., HD, JunFan, anyone?
The ladies of Cartagena aren't as "polished" as the ladies of Cali in terms of beauty. They are more naturally beautiful, and that relaxed natural-ness and humility is reflected in their attitudes as well.
Having gone from B/quilla to C/gena then back to B/quilla, the difference in attitude and demeanor of the ladies was notable...generally speaking, like the difference between the big city-girl and the country-girl attitudes.
Barranquilla is like a second home, and I have many good friends and surrogate families there...but you gotta call 'em like you see 'em, so Cartagena gets the "nod".

ps - If you want to prepare yourself for the heat in Cartagena...fly into B/quilla, then when you start to sweat profusely, go stand under a heat lamp...'cause it is HOT down there.
