Im back Smiley i just got back from Peru. And now Im a married man! We got married on 6/24 place called San Bartollo, is little town in Peru right by the Pacific Ocean. I went to the embassy about two days later, and turned in the forms. The guy told me and my wife she would get the forms in the mail in about 3 weeks. She will then go for the interview with other info she needs, so seems the k-130 wife visa is lot faster than K-1 to me, here in Peru and in Colombia.

Congrats!  Did you have a civil or religious wedding?  And were there many bureaucratic hurdles in getting approval for the wedding?  Good luck.

im glad you brought that up, i got a civil wedding so it will be legal and i can submit the paperwork to the embassy to get the ball rolling for her visa, she was willing to put off the religious wedding till around march and family said was ok too.....so we had an agencey (friend told us about the agencey, we met on our own) help us get the paperwork rolling, however...it cost, it cost about 960.00 total..500.00 for the wedding, 350.00 for agencey ..and a a 110.00 filing fee at the embassy....out of the 350.00 the lady paid for the pictures and birth certificate and had translated to english with offical seal for my wife...which we needed to submit with the paperwork ..the aplication paperwork is very similar to the K-1 visa paper work, at least the application part of it is.....its the main form, with two bio forms, our birth certificats (her's translated to english) our marriage license (translated to english) and copy of my passport, and our pictures....as far as proof we met ..nada...they didnt ask for it, i was there with her in front of them and we are married, so i think they dont press the proof part to hard since its obvious, but maybe though ..they will ask for things durring the interview such as pictures, and plane tickets, e-mail, letters..to make sure is on the up and up....but maybe not since she is my wife legaly......and will be from day one when she steps foot on american soil...dont know??..havent got to that part yet, they told her in about 3 weeks they will send packet in mail, and they took her phone #...they said she will be sent info on the other things she needs to bring...im sure she will have to do the medical exam, and bring couple other things im sure....like police record, for the interview ........my wife seem to think after the fact we didnt need the agencey, said she thinks she could do all the paper works for lot less...she said civil wedding should only cost 300 not 500 ..she thinks that they made about 500 bucks off me....but i didnt have to deal with the paperwork, they were fast, and we didnt know......but my wife was annoyed though....said in future if friend gets married she will help them do for lot less, she was taking notes while looking at our paperwork...and kept copy of the things needed..she seemed confident she could do it herself..live and learn........but as far as bureaucratic hurdles...i didnt run into any,...so far..ha ha ha...knock on wood, she still has to go back for the interview, we just got the application submitted and done..so we are not done yet...keep ya posted...Smiley...laterz, golden
