How much do the ladies really make?...

And how much does it buy?

$50 to $350 a month doesn't seem like much but they have nice clothes, the insides of their apartments are nicely decorated, and how do they afford all that travelling (that they love so much)?

I know I'm generalizing.  I'm sure there is a big difference between Moscow and Taganrog but what are the real salaries these ladies are pulling down?  And how far does it go?

Here's what I know about Crimea,,, My wife worked at a grade school at night, She made $25.00 a month and got $8.00 a month for her son as she was a widow. Policeman; about $50.00 a month,,  mailman; $20-25.00 a month w/ no car, (has to carry everything) People who sit at the market 6 days a week, $1.00 a day, plus if you're lucky, you will get a small comission. Manager of small food store; $50.00 per month. Just what of few of my in-laws and friends do and what they get compensated.

Those figures would be typical of most of Ukraine except for Kiev where wages (and living expenses) are higher. I have some friends in the Donetsk region who are miners. They average $75 a month - when they get paid.

The wages in Russia vary drastically between Moscow and St. Petersburg (Moscow much more than St. Pete) and as between those two cities and the rest of Russia. In most parts of Russia the wages are not much higher than Ukraine.

It is sad to say but you are right on with much of what you have written.

Some doctors will make from $100 to $150 a month, when they get paid. I had heard that policeman were about $80 a month, but this was in Kiev, and many made another $200 a month off the books, if you know what I mean.

Here are monthly salaries that I know of for ladies I met in SPb.  Not all told me their salaries, but several did.

Medical doctor:  Neurologist - $100
Medical doctor:  Forensic medicine - $120
Medical doctor:  General practictioner - $70
University professor: $90
Chief accountant publishing company:  $500
Admin Assistant to President Importing firm:  $350
Private accountant for several small businesses:  $500-700
Computer programmer:  $200
Owner of small manufacturing business:  $60,000 per year.
She pays her office people $30 per month, but another $100 off the books.
Accountant:  $60 official salary, but another $200 off the books.
