Greg posted below about knowing a Moscow woman who married a man from Oregon and talked him into moving to Moscow.

For those who know something about this, I would like to know how an AM can move to Russia and stay there for a long period.

I think the tourist visa is for 30 days and a multi entry business visa can be had for one year.

So what other means are available for an AM to stay for longer than one year, with a woman he is married to or just with any woman he wants to stay with, or whatever??

Two thoughts on Moscow:

1. It is huge and one could spend years exploring it.

2. The air is terrible. So bad in fact that both times I was there it gummed up my sinuses and left a scorched feeling in my lungs.

Moscow's air definitely "chewable"... just don't swallow.

JR,

It's really no problem in getting a one-year business visa for Russia and as you get with-in 30 days of your one year visa expiring you can get another one-year visa with-in a few days, and you can get this while you are in Russia.

Now in Moscow and St. Pete it's not so difficult to get this new one-year visa but if you get into smaller cities or to the east of the Urals it may not be so easy.
