Hello Everyone!

I will be leaving to see my fiance, Marina, on January 2, 2002. I want to get the ball rolling with our fiance visa. I want to start the paperwork when I see her in Jan. What exactly will I need to bring with me to the Ukraine. I believe that all the necessary forms that I will need I can download from the INS website, correct? What forms should I bring with me and should I bring any other documents with me, or will I only need it when I formally apply in the USA. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Happy Holidays to all!
John

Here's a great site with detailed instructions and advice about what to bring to Ukraine on your visit to get the fiancee visa started when you get back.

If you e-mail me I will send you a file that I received from the Warsaw Consulate. It may help you in dealing with them. Good luck and have a great trip! amtnmn4u@nospam.com

Of course,  all this info. can be obtained from the doc-steen site but just for the heck of it....

All the forms can be downloaded off the doc-steen site as well.

I would take at least one copy of the G-325A (biographical info. for her to fill out and sign.)  You should also have her take 2 (3/4 turn adit photos)-these are the same type of photos they use for green cards.

You should also get a letter of intent to marry from her with her signature.

You might even consider to take a copy of the OF-169 with you to fill out and have her sign.  You won't have the case number but I think you can include it with your original I-129F petition.

Other things to remember are to take some photos of you two together (near some famous monuments or other recognizable features are good.  Also it might be a good idea to take a couple with you and her with her family to show you have met her family)  You should also remember to save all receipts (plane, train, hotels, etc.... anything to show you have been to her country and what dates....)

Hope this helps but I would highly recommend checking out the doc-steen site to double check.

Good luck,  Jim

It's been a couple of years, but to expedite the process you should bring a G-325A form for her to sign and fill out.  She will need two immigration quality photos.  She also will need English translations of her birth certificates and any divorce decrees.  If there are children, you will also the G-325A and photos as well as an English translations of their birth certificates.  You will need a copy of her passport.  Have some photos taken together, especially with her parents and children if possible.  The rest of the fiance visa forms can be filled out by you.  If you like, I can send you the application package I sent and you can follow it from there.  We got it approved in 13 days, but that was at the Vermont Service Center that is historically much faster than the other INS centers.
