Has anyone been to Oshkar-ola in central Russia ? I'm corresponding with a lady via e mail and thru and agency. I bought her postal address and sent a letter 11 days ago. She has not received it yet.
If I can get a e mail address to anyone in Oshkar-ola then maybe this person could call her and give her my e mail address so we could correspond directly with one another.
I'm looking for a friend in Oshkar-ola who could call and replay my direct e mail address which is    dav1414@altavista.com
Any ones help will be appreciated.

Whoa! Slow down a little!

You've been in contact for eleven days, and you want to contact her directly? My experience with women in general and Russian women in particular is that they prefer a slower approach. When you have exchanged letters through the agency for a while, SHE can find someone with an E-mail address and you can phase out of the agency stage. Russian women may look like kewpie dolls in their studio portraits, but every single one of them has survived under circumstances that you and I can only imagine. Let her handle things on that end.

A good agency can be a very important ally when it comes to handling all sorts of issues over there. For example. do you speak, read, and write Russian? It is very unlikely that your lady can communicate in English. Not one woman in 30 in Yoshkar-ola does well enough to communicate with you directly at first. Everything you see, including her entire ad, was translated for her.

A relationship with a Russian woman is MORE complicated than a relationship with an American woman. The advantage is not that you can just rush in and have bliss. The advantage is that if you will take your time, you can have a much more satisfying relationship.

I spent four years writing to Russian women, learning Russian, and visiting the country. My fiancee and I have exchanged a stack of E-mails that fills three large loose-leaf binders. We talk on the phone for many hours every week (cheap phone service.)

I will bring my fiancee and her son home from Yoshkar-ola in two weeks. It will be my fourth trip to Russia this year. Yoshkar-ola (learn to spell it!) is a dirty, dingy town of 330,000, but there are some very well-educated, beautiful, wonderful eligible women there, perhaps the highest concentration in the world. Of course, YMMV.

Please forgive my brisk tone. As my fiancee says,  "Many American men come here for an exciting vacation." If you are one of those, please stick to the street ladies in Moscow. If you are serious about writing to, meeting, courting, falling in love with, and marrying a Russian woman, you have a great adventure ahead of you.
