Title: Visa Success?
Post by: Taliman on December 12, 2001, 05:00:00 AM
Hi all, well Christine had her I-130 Interview
at the US Embassy today.
We filed the Petition back in Jan through NSC.
Just got off the phone with her.
Here is what happened:

US Embassy Interviewer: "Hello Christine how are you?"

Christine "Doing fine thanks"

US Embassy Interviewer: "So your here for your visa?"

Christine "Yes Maam"

Interviewer:"Do you love your husband?"

Chrstine:" Of course I do"

Interviewer:"Ok your papers are fine you'll be getting
your visa in 7-10 days from Delbros(sp)"

Christine: "Thank you Maam"

That's it 11 months of waiting for a 2 1/2 minute
interview.

Now if they follow through we can really celebrate!

Question for the board.
Does the Embassy put the Visa IN her passport OR
is it a separate document?

Thanks again to everyone.

Congratulations Dingo! Another survivor of the long visa process…

The visa is on a separate document and they don’t keep the passport at the interview. They will take the visa from her when she arrives at the port of entry in the U.S.

Wow Thanks Ray that is just what we needed to hear.
She called the embassy for the 2nd time and went in person again today
to make sure they don't need her passport.
For some reason we started to think that they somehow "grafted"
the visa and picture INTO the Philippine passport itself.

Thanks for clearing this up.

Hi Don that's not good to hear since they did NOT take her passport.
She has the SPOUSAL visa so not sure if this is different process from you Fiance Visa
She called the embassy after she returned to her hotel to Verify they don't need her passport
they said "nope don't need we will send visa"....now I'm confused and a little concerned.
Anyone have any ideas?
thanks
