Title: Going back to Baq Post by: Serenade on March 21, 2005, 05:00:00 AM Hi everyone, I leave Tuesday to go back to Baq and see Zayne. I was in Baq last Sept. for a week (with Sam Smith's I Love Latins tour) and now am finally getting back there after 6 months. I'll be there until April 1st and spend most the time in Baq except for a couple of days in Cartegna next Thursday and Friday.
I would not call Zayne my novia just yet as we just saw each other 3 times in Sept., but she could very well be during the course of this visit. This is the trip where we will really get to know one another better, and I will meet her family and two children, a girl and a boy who are 5 and 3 years old. Zayne has never been married, but lived with the father of her children for 4 or 5 years, and he left her about 2 years ago. She has not seen him, or wanted to in the last 2 years but he does see his children every few months when they visit their grandmother. Zayne just turned 26, and I just turned 46, so there is a bit of an age difference. But I figure I'm a little immature for my age and she is very mature for her age, so who knows? If things develop as I hope and think they could, I might be asking some advice from UC and others who have brought wives back that had children, but that's a little bit into the future. All I know is that I have enjoyed getting to know Zayne the last few months through weekly (sometimes twice a week) phone calls and regular emails, and can hardly wait to see her in person again. Oh yeah, it'll be nice to get out of this stupid weather up here in NE Ohio, too. BTW, I'll be staying at the Versailles Hotel, except for the two nights in Cartegna. And Zayne said she preferred for us to stay together in one room (Yay!!!). Sounds good! I arrive in BAQ on March 30th. Perhaps you or anyone else down there at that time could meet me at "Tienda de German". Title: Re: Re: Going back to Baq Post by: Ken2 on March 21, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Going back to Baq, posted by Sam Club on Mar 21, 2005

good luck in barranquilla with zayne, i just got back from there and it is HOT!! this is holy week, semana santa, so certain businesses will be closed starting wed, many people will have off the whole week. about zayne...you wrote that she'd prefer to stay with you in one room, so here are a few questions, wouldn't you consider this request a red flag? even with separate beds you've only been together 3 times, you're still strangers, isn't it a bit premature to be spending time together in the same room? when you write that you would be meeting her family, i guess this means her parents, correct? do you think her parents or family know of this arrangement? even though she is an adult, i'm curious to know if her parents would agree to allowing her stay with a stranger in the same room for a couple of days. Thanks for the message Jediknight, Well, Zayne was raised by her grandparents in Santa Marta, and she has occasional contact with her Father. She lives with an aunt and her husband in Baq, so she doesn't really have to answer to anyone. I don't think there are any red flags yet, but Zayne and I did kiss a lot when I got to know her a little last Sept (it was after the 2nd date) and perhaps sharing a room is the next step as I see it. However, I am a cautious person by nature (esp. after reading some of the stories here)and will keep in mind what you wrote. BTW, I am the one that inquired about the room situation in Cartegna and did not put any pressure on her at all for her preference, and in fact I joked that if I drove her crazy we could get a 2nd room. Anyway, got to get back to my packing. [This message has been edited by jediknight] understood serenade, just try to go slow. whether raised by her parents or not, from what i've experienced, appearances matter in colombia and a situation like yours may not appear correct to her family. granted that she doesn't have to answer to anyone but it's a difficult situation you'll be in. on the one hand there is obvious attraction and desire to be intimate with one another and without having the luxury of time on your side sharing a room and perhaps the same bed can lead to much more very quickly, much more than both of you should really want at this point in your relationship. some girls feel that if they arent intimate right away they may lose a guys interest.you may not be pressuring her but she may feel pressured to move things along quickly. all i can say is be careful and lots of luck, this process isn't easy and i hope you both have a great time and things develop further between the two of you. Hey knight maybe they could use a bundling board. He should be very carefull. She might try leading him astray. Remember she could be a bad girl unfit for marriage. Only a bad girl would have premarital sex even if she was desperate. There are jezabels everywhere trying to stain your lilly white -------------- (fill in the blank with your preference) jimc |
