Title: What's there to do in BAQ? Post by: Looking4Wife on March 01, 2005, 05:00:00 AM I know that roses are red
And violets are blue But what's there to do In BAQ? Besides the obvious, "making out", I am looking for dating ideas for my first trip to BAQ. Not knowing what is available in the city, its kind of hard to plan for activities. I have come up with a SHORT list, since I don't know what's available... Salsa Dancing (but where?) Do they have stuff like Putt-Putt miniature golf? Gracias Title: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? Forgot, No problem with police, I think the highway was very safe. I think going on a bus would be much cheaper. However I didn't inquire. good luck, Nico5 Title: Re: Re: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? - Taxi BQ-Cartagena Post by: Nico5 on March 02, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? - Tax..., posted by AGUILA on Mar 2, 2005
Yes my novia and I took a taxi from Baq to Cartagena. I was a fairly good hiway. The taxi driver was very familar with the city. We went in the morning and come back in the evening before nightfall. Price sixty dollars. Ask around for a price and find one familar with the city. Also fine a taxi with AC. Many taxi have broken AC. good luck, Nico5 Title: Re: Re: Re: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? - Taxi BQ-Cartagena Post by: Ricardo on March 02, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? -..., posted by Nico5 on Mar 2, 2005
Hey, I just took the bus, cheaper, yes; runs all day, was about 8000 pesos, for a comfortable bus with AC. But better travel in the day, safer, etc. When you get to Cartagena, catch a taxi... I took the RAPID TAXI to Cartagena from BQ and it was a nice trip, 25000COP and it goes along the beach highway. It is actually very arid like along the way, desert like and not all that lush , which surprised me.Safe, took 90 minutes. Thanks Kiltboy, Where did you find the rapid taxi. Is it air conditioned? 25000 Pesos is very cheap, like $11. Is that correct? Do they leave at pre-arranged times or anytime you want to leave. I've spent a bunch of days at the private beach "Prado Mar", about 15 minutes west of the city. The $2 charge to get in is too pricy for most locals. Always some music playing, decent drinks, lots of suntanned babes. Watch the sunset into the ocean. The beach itself is rocky, the water is ok, but I've always had a grand time there. Cab ride + a long afternoon's worth of drinks for 2 + some munchies + admission comes to about $30. I'll be there in 2 weeks. Anzo Title: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? [This message has been edited by zack] The ladies I have met in BQ are always hesitant to recommend a visit to Santa Marta because it is too dangerous according to them- just what I heard. I have never been there. Zack Title: Re: Re: What's there to do in BAQ? Post by: Nico5 on March 02, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: What's there to do in BAQ?, posted by zack on Mar 1, 2005
Have been to Santa Marta 2x from Baq by bus. Had a great time. Last time went early and stayed overnight in a hotel. Good food and nice beach. My novia and I had a great time. I wonder how they think anyone there will return the movies after they are done with them. I am not saying everyone in Colombia are thieves but in my wife's neighborhood if it was not nailed down or cemented to the corner it was gone the next day and that includes the trash. I use to watch the guy across the strret steal electrical every day. He had a hook up before the meter. They use to steal the cable off the poles to sell, it would piss me off when I would get up in the morning and no cable t.v. cable theives were busy again. My wife would shrug her shoulders and say o well lets go down town. You are right my wife just told me the same thing. Funny I never saw it down there when I was there in Oct. Maybe because I had other things on my mind then watching movies. They must make you leave your first born at the store so you have to bring back the rental.
