We had our first good hard rain since my wife got here.

She said "it is like taking a shower outside"

Title: Try SNOW with a woman from the D.R!

My fiance has NEVER even worn a coat, much less ever seeing snow.  When I visited there 2 weeks ago she was amazed at how heavy my coat was.  I was afraid she would feel how heavy my coat was and run away to the beach!  She tried it on, pranced around the house for 15 mins in 80 degree weather and took pictures in MY coat!  She promises me a good snowball fight, but the way it looks she won't get here to New Jersey in time to see any of it.  THIS winter anyway.

Hoda, I am dealing with the American Embassy in the D.R.  They have a tremendous backlog!  She should have been here in January.  We do not have an interview date yet.  Could be in April, perhaps May.  There is just no way of telling.  This is one STRESSFUL situation!  Just trying to hang in there.  I don't expect any snowball fights this year.  (*sniff*)

I can remember my wife's first "real" snowfall. She wanted to go outside & play in it. I told her, that I've used up my "playing in the snow" days a looonnnng time ago :-). Evenually, I had to give in & we went outside & had a "friendly" snowball fight....

She still has a way to go, in perfecting her "scoop, shape & launching" skills....lol

Try that in Denver where the Lighting and Thunder are a mile closer!  You will be in for a very close night the first time a real T Storm hits, TRUST!

I know what you mean. I brought my girlfriend to Miami about 2 years ago. It started raining and she would not stay out of it. She had never experienced a rain shower before! Hey, it's her story so I have no reason to doubt her...

I almost lost her when she leaned out of the balcony of the hotel in Miami trying to capture some rain in her mouth.

People don't realize that Lima, Peru is actually situated in a desert area. There are cactus growing in the parks. Only the mositure from the ocean keeps the plant life alive with its nightly dew.

Speaking of...I really miss the place. Nice ladies and nice places to eat. Best of...

Jim,
It rains so much here in the central valley of California,  I know my
fiance in Lima will probably not like the rain since it really never rains
there!   Also, it gets so much hotter  here in the summer as well, and it's
much more dry compared to humid Lima.  I know everythign will be a
huge adjustment for her!
