My novia says this is a town near Medellin. The article makes it sound like it is near Bogota. "Consider the news source. The [sic] have the facts all dorked up!" Careful. If you read the article, you'd have caught who the news' source was. The Associated Press. Right below the article heading, before the first paragraph; where such credit is normally found. It's not a 'moc-umentary.' It's an honest-to-goodness story. San Rafael is about 60/70 km south east of Medellin off the main route to Bogotá Title: Re: San Rafael Post by: cancunhound on December 27, 2004, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Colombian Marxist Rebels Kidnap ..., posted by Gator on Dec 26, 2004
It's also just an hour's drive from from Barrancabermeja (arguably the most dangerous city in Colombia - or the world for that matter). Until recently this was a big-time paramilitary stronghold - I wonder if the recent truce/surrender of some of the para units is having a negative impact whereby the guerrillas are taking advantage of any unclaimed turf. |
