Title: Gringotalk Post by: pablo on December 20, 2004, 05:00:00 AM [This message has been edited by pablo]
Not too long ago there was a post asking what happened to the forum over at Gringos.com I just wanted to pass on to those interested that the forum is still active and there was a recent decision made by the administrator. Quote: One more option for those interested in LA. Title: RIP Gringotalk? Post by: chao on December 22, 2004, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Gringotalk, posted by pablo on Dec 20, 2004
I've been a member of Gringotalk since September 1999 and I haven't been able to log on for several months. Title: Re: RIP Gringotalk? Post by: pablo on December 22, 2004, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to RIP Gringotalk?, posted by chao on Dec 22, 2004
I'm not sure if you were aware that Gringotalk was hacked into which resulted in a lot of damage a few months ago. Since that time the passwords were changed and supposedly every member was to have received an email asking for verification then sent a new password. You probably did not receive your new password. If you email them I'm sure they would be happy to send you the login information. Gringotalk??? I purchased the book pre August 2000 and found it informative and a good reference source at that time in preparation for my first trip to Colombia... Used the message boards and found it to be very helpful... In August 2001 I was required to re-register and had my account re-activated... Gringotalk then seemed to die a slow death with very little participation etc... In March/April 2004 I receive several messages "welcome back to Gringotalk" etc... I re-register, participate, behave myself, then out of the blue I get booted out of the group. I then receive a message from Gringotalk asking me for my driver's license number, SS#, DOB, etc... We all can see where that was going... |
