Title: I-130 approved Post by: jfred on August 18, 2001, 04:00:00 AM Hey gang,
My senator's office called yesterday telling me that my wife's visa was approved and was being sent to some visa office. Can anyone give me a heads up as to what is coming next? Is this where I get sent some "packet 3" or something? On average, how much longer? Wouldn't it be great if she could be here for our first anniversary (9/19)? Jim Title: Visa or I-130 approved? Jim, If your wife’s VISA was approved, then it would be sent directly to her by the embassy. That would take a day or two. If you mean that the INS has approved your I-130 PETITION, then it would be forwarded to the NVC (National Visa Center) for further processing. In that case, you're probably looking at another 4 months or so. The next step would be the NVC sending your wife a form DS-3032 where she designates who receives further forms to be sent out. Then they will send the packet 3 stuff to whoever she designates (you, her, or attorney). The packet will have more forms and instructions on what to do next, so just follow the procedure. A lot of the NVC procedures have changed since we completed the process in March of this year, so I can’t guarantee any info provided here. Good luck, Ray Title: Re: I-130 approved Post by: Bear on August 18, 2001, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to I-130 approved, posted by jfred on Aug 18, 2001
