Tom,

She's going home the end of August for two months to be with her seriously ailing father.

I will post more this weekend.

Thanks so much for your prayers and concern :c)

Howard:

That's good news, I hope all turns out well once she is there. I find that family matters back at home are often kept between the families, I don't no why I guess it all about saving face. Once she feels comfortable enough she may (regrettably) share all the news and needs of her family back home. Obviously health issues are serious and there should be no qualms about helping within your means, however be cautious of trivial request for assistance such as startup cost for small business ventures. The desire to succeed may be there but the motivation may easily deminish.

Have you shopped for airfare yet? If you want some suggestions try Ron Perry, let me know if you need help finding him.

Our prayers are with you.

Thanks Don!

I would like to get Ron's Phone number, I lost it :c(  But, she has a pal that works for NorthWest and she got her a "Buddy" Ticket, Round Trip, Open Ended for $350.00 to Manila from DTW and Back!  That's a KILLLER Deal!  Ron got me a better deal than anyone else, but I still payed like $700ish for Ayesa's one way ticket here!  Maybe working at the Airport isn't all bad :c)

Bear,

It sounds like he did more than rip you off! That sounds like the Kano rate. Was it first class seating?

Business, but it was all he said he could get because I ordered too late in the year.  I met 3 people who got there tickets 2 months after me and less than 2 weeks before they left, who paid only $750.

Bear,

If you flew business class in December then you didn't get ripped off that bad. Were these two other $750 tickets also business class? Did they both have the same origination and destination and the same dates?

I'm not defending Ron, but I think maybe you are comparing apples and oranges here? Everybody has always told me that if I want to fly to the Phils in December, I should get my tickets in July. Do you have a flight booked yet for December?

What I said was that Ron said I could not get other tickets because these were all that was available when I purchased them in Oct.  I accepted his advice and paid.  Then 2 weeks later Asiaairfare.com notified me that they were sorry they hadn't gotten back with me sooner but they had roundtrip for $850.  Then on the trip there I met several others who  purchased their tickets several weeks before the trip, no one paid more than $750 as they claim.  Several days before my weddding Paulv requested and recieved tickets to Davao from California.

Don't believe people who tell you that you can't get tickets during the Christmas season.  They use that as a ploy to charge more.  And accordingly this year the number of full airplanes are way down as reported on NBC News 2 days ago.
