Title: Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!! Post by: JimmySTLOUIS on November 24, 2003, 05:00:00 AM Well i wont actually get there until Wednesday but I leave tomorrow for Lima Peru. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am all packed and ready to go. I have all the basics clothes, passport, gifts, money, chocolates (and gummy bears). I am very excited about this trip. This is my first time being a gringo. I have never been to SA or even Mexico. This could be the best ten days of my life or the longest if things go sour. I appreciate all the help and inspiration provided by this board.
I am ready to roll!

Jimmy, I hope it all works out or you. I really do.I hope to hear she is everything you have immagined and you are also for her. But your expectations with a woman you have never met are sky high.Lots of room for it to be less than expected. Good luck buddy, you need it. I like your attitude.I hope its rewarded. [This message has been edited by Bueller] Jimmy, I wish you the best, but like Pete said your expectations with a woman you have never met are sky high. I hope I'm wrong, but you could wind up seriously disappointed within the first ten minutes of *actually meeting her in person*-- with several days of your visit still stretching out ahead of you, knowing you're going to waste all that time with someone you already know isn't right for you. This feeling is compounded by the fact that you spent weeks or months building up a fantasy in your mind of how it was going to be, and you feel like you met a completely different person than the one you "knew" virtually. I speak from experience, my friend... It's always better to be able to say, "I was only planning on spending [a day or whatever] with you, but I'm digging you so much I now want to stay [another week or whatever] instead"...than to try to think of a nice way to say the opposite. Really, Jimmy, good luck; all the best; go get 'em, Tiger! But dang you're sticking your neck out here. Good luck and watch out for the taxi drivers. They will take you on a wild goose chase just to get more money. H2-Oh Title: Greetings from Lima! Post by: surfscum on November 24, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!!, posted by JimmySTLOUIS on Nov 24, 2003
Hi Jimmy and all. The weather is getting better here: the weekend was sunny and almost hot, but today it was hazy and around 70 degrees. Jimmy, do NOT be afraid of Lima, there are some great museums here you really should see and there is nothing to do in Pisco after 2 days. Also, you really should see the downtown´s colonial buildings and the catacombs. As I mentioned before, we could hook up and go to LarcoMar or wherever. Have a great trip! Have a great time Jimmy! You said that you are bringing gifts. Are they wrapped? The inspectors at customs may need to unwrap and open gifts. Not always the case, but it does happen. Good luck and give us a trip report. Zack |
