Title: Pete, thanks Post by: Michael B on November 16, 2003, 05:00:00 AM I talked to your travel agent last week. Told her that since we had only ever 'talked' over the internet that I wasn't sure how to pronounce your name, but that you had recommended her. She said "Pete E...? Sure he's a great guy. So, what can I do for YOU?"....make a long story short, she knew how to cut a few corners (nothing underhanded, just 'knowing the ropes') and beat the best internet fare I had found by $130 per ticket (and since I'm buying THREE tickets, that's $400 she saved me).

Barbara, yes I used her and she was good.Last time I had to book a ticket the same day,so Maria, who is out of Florida and works with international living got me a deal. Both are good.I might give them both a shot at my next ticket.Barbara is a part timer.I was already on the plane before she got back to me.I guess it was unusual circumstances. But she does know Colombia and American airlines well. I haven't found an agent that can beat posted fares on the respective Airline sites in years. Charters are the only exception. Do tell that Agent's name! PS Good news you've got the tickets and their visas and such, I suspect we won't hear from you for awhile after they arrive - My sincere wishes extend to you and your new family. She's $211.50 per ticket cheaper than AA's website. She's not quoting a charter, but not exactly the most direct route either. Thanks for the good wishes. Well, two out of three visas aint bad, Martha and her son have theirs. We changed our minds and are bringing the 20yo daughter also. Martha and the daughter are in Bogota to secure that visa as we speak (or type), they left early this morning (at least they were suppossed to and I haven't heard differently). I won't buy the tickets until we're sure if I'm buying two or three, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't give the daughter a visa also. Just wish that M. had said she wanted to bring this daughter BEFORE she went to Bogota the first time, would have saved me some money AND they'd already be here. Yes, I'll be taking a leave of absence from the board when they arrive, I'm pretty sure I'll have better things to do at night once she's here. |
