Title: Immigration services Post by: roadken on November 11, 2003, 05:00:00 AM Anyone have any experiences and/or recommendations for who to use for help with the visa process?Specifically,Apex and Gary Bala?
Has anyone started a fiancee visa and then married her in Colombia, then successfully converted the fiancee visa to a Spousal visa?I need help as I am getting conflicting opinions as to what is possible. Thanks Title: Re: Immigration services Post by: Michael B on November 11, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Immigration services, posted by roadken on Nov 11, 2003
I (and others here as well) did it myself. It's NOT that hard. That is, a straight K-1 with maybe a K-2 thrown in, if she has kids, isn't that hard. If she's got a criminal record or has an overstay or something like that on her rap sheet, then I'd use a lawyer. If I WERE going to hire anybody, I'd hire Bala, I've never heard one way or the other about APEX (except for Kiltboy's recent post) but I've heard several guys say they used Bala with no problems. Regarding filing for a K-1 and then marrying her and 'converting' it, forget that. You will have to go back to square one and file a K-3. If she's married (even to the guy who orginaly sponsored her K-1) she can't get a K-1 and if she has one pending, they will deny it if they find out she's married. (and heaven help you if you don't tell them she's married and they find out anyway) Title: Re: Immigration services Post by: Kiltboy1 on November 11, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Immigration services, posted by roadken on Nov 11, 2003
