Title: Colombia Terror Night on The History Channel
Post by: DallasSteve2 on October 09, 2003, 04:00:00 AM
Tonight you get three hours of terror from Colombia on the History Channel.  Killing Pablo begins at 8 ET/7 CT and Americans Held Hostage starts at 10 ET/9 ET.  Part of Americans Held Hostage was shown last night on 60 Minutes II, but not all of it.  I've seen Killing Pablo before and it's great.  There are extensive interviews with Colonel Hugo Martinez and Carlos Castano, both fascinating men in my opinion.

You can also read Killing Pablo online at

The author is in the program and he's fascinating, too.

Thanks for the tip, I want to see that.  On subject of Escobar, a great book is Noticias de Un Secuestro, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  It's about the kidnappings of a group of people by Escobar, back when he was trying to exert pressure on the Colombian government.  There's an English translation.  It's nonfiction, and a fascinating read, as you'd expect from Garcia Marquez (nobel prize winning writer, and a journalist before he became a novelist).
