Title: National Visa Center
Post by: Starman on September 04, 2003, 04:00:00 AM
How can I check the status for my approved K1 petition at the NVA? Supposedly they eventually forward the petition on to the consulate. It's been about 2 and half weeks and no notice. I've called the automated telephone line and for the fiancee visas they transfer you to an operator. I then get a messge that they are too busy to answer my call. If I select the 1st option (immigrant visa), they do not have my BCIS receipt number. That may be because this does not include finacee visas (non-immigrant).

Anyone know anything about this??

Thanks,

Tim.

If you look at Robert Vignolas site (latin women connections) (he is an attorney) there is a section on new events or something to that effect. He describes that it takes up to an additional month before the papers go to the embasy because the NVC has to do processing.

Call real early in the morning, when they first open and a clerk will answer and look it up for you. Their clerks are MUCH more polite than INS...but you might start getting worried, it was only about 2 weeks after BCIS second notice before M. had the package from the embassy.
