Title: 2nd Interview Questions Post by: wizard on May 16, 2003, 04:00:00 AM Ok guys, thanks in advance...
Francy has been preparing for her second interview at the Embassy on the 27th... When we had interview one, they gave us Packet 3 & 4 on the spot... Francy was reading through the information and the packets say that she needs to have copies of the usual documents... Like her Birth Certificate, Baptismal records, Police Report and so on... Well, the Embassy took these documents from us on the first visit... My wife is freaked at this point, thinking she has to get another copy of all these documents... She is planning to travel back to Villavicencillo to get additional copies... Are they asking for the same documents again or are they talking about the copies we already gave them??? No they don't want an extra copy. The items on the list that you gave them already can just be checked off. Title: Thanks Hiker Post by: wizard on May 16, 2003, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: 2nd Interview Questions, posted by Hiker on May 16, 2003
I just spoke to my wife and told her that she didn't need to get another copy of her birth certificate and baptismal records... She is still leary though... She read me the instructions from Packet 3 and they stated that they wanted a list of documents in a specific order... If you don't have all the listed documents for the second interview, don't bother coming... About half of the documents they say are required for the second interview were also requested on the first interview... I guess I should know better than to think that OUR government would ever publish SIMPLE instructions for ANY process... Thanks Hiker... Yeah I don't blame her. It is an important day. It might be worth getting them just for her comfort. Some of the documents like the marriage certificate of her parents etc are never asked for. If you completed the G325A, it is also not asked for. Title: Re: Re: Thanks Hiker Post by: wizard on May 16, 2003, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Thanks Hiker, posted by Hiker on May 16, 2003
I did G-325A forms for both of us too... Although I was told that the DS-230 replaced the G-325A... With the kind of luck you've been having, I may have my wife go ahead and get second copies of the documents that the Embassy already has... Better safe than sorry... When I first went to the embassy, I brought filled-out forms of every possible document they would need for both interviews. Then, with a smile and a courteous look, I asked her to choose which documents she needed now, and which she would need next time. I may have caught her on a good day, but she made two neat piles for me. And I tossed the rest of the dox. Title: Note To Self... Should ever I embark on this bureaucratic nightmare, order copies of the required documents by the truckful. That way, at each interview, drop about 25 lbs of documents on each paper pushing weasel you encounter. Bureaucrats probably get their jollies from taking paper baths...but how can you go wrong with any of these bozos when each official has a complete set of everything. Oh, and throw in a copy of the Unabomber's Manifesto for added bulk... Title: Re: Note To Self... I didn't get the impression that the workers at the Consular window were on the State Dept. fast-track toward plumb diplomatic assignments. What I saw were comic figures from Graham Greene novels, including the bulbous alcoholic noses. |
