Title: Visa Photos
Post by: TimN on March 07, 2003, 05:00:00 AM
According to INS form M-378, there is no mention of not wearing earrings in the visa photos, yet I have read that INS may reject the photos if the person is wearing earrings. My problem is that it will be difficult for my fiancée to have new photos taken because the closest visa photographer is about 8 hours away.

Other than the earrings (small), the photos are perfect.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Tim.

Tim,
We were told at the Embassy the photo needed to show a semi profile, about 45 degrees, with the ear showing and no earings.
If she is going to the embassy in Bogota there is a little shop between the embassy  gate and the main road that takes photos and makes copies.Maybe 100 feet from the Embassy entrance.

Pete

WE used the same shop for Luisa because of the earings-- the coffee next door at the cafe there is terrible, or was at the time, but the photos were fine.

The following link says "No Earrings":

I don't know that this is an offical website but I did get a lot of hits on google for "M-378 photo earrings".  Every hit I saw said they are not allowed.  My girlfriend is getting hers taken next week.  I am glad you asked this question because she always has some small studs in.

I am editing this to add the following.  Do a text search in the following document for the word earring.

They are NOT allowed.  No glasses, earrings, or hats.
