Title: Strange Question.. Post by: corv on February 13, 2003, 05:00:00 AM I have a strange question. Is it legal to ship wine(fedex, dhl, ect) from overseas back to the states. I ask in fedex and they had no idea of american customs.. I´m in Argentina and there are some wines I would like to send home. I´m only talking a couple bottles per shipment maybe 3 or 4 shipments. As I move through the country I want to send back local wines. My bag is over packed and just carrying them over the month I´m here is not an option. Just wondered if they would get stopped by customs.. Thanks

A winery should be able to answer that question. They will usually ship wine for you and will know the rules. Pete Title: Re: Strange Question.. Post by: elcolombiano on February 14, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Strange Question.., posted by corv on Feb 13, 2003
I am not a lawyer but each state in the US regulates importation of alcahol. You need special permits to import booze across state lines. You are only allowed to bring in from foreign countries 2 liters of booze per person. Once I brought in from europe 6 bottles of wine and told customs what I was bringing and they were very pissed off at me. Title: Re: Re: Strange Question....
