Title: Barranquilla anyone?
Post by: surfero on January 01, 2003, 05:00:00 AM
I'm thinking of going to Barranquilla later this year.  Can anyone share some info, recommend a good agency etc?

Hi. One agency in Barranquilla that is worth looking into is Classy Colombian Ladies. The owners, Bob and Maria, are very insightful, helpful, and sincere. Personally, if all goes well, I will be going to Barranquilla from March 1 to March 8. I'll be in time for Carnaval this year. Take care.

Keith - I've been checking out the Classy Columbian Ladies site for about a year and haven't noticed any changes - no new ladies added.  The pictures are all seem to be at least two years old.  Any reason to recommend them over Barranquilla Beauties or Barranquilla's Best?

Let's just say that I trust them wholeheartedly. When I needed advice regarding the ladies, they helped me out a great deal. That's why I like them. Later.

I wonder if it coincidence that the owner of Barranquilla Best is a surfer?
Sounds like that makings of a carefully constructed shill post.

I think you are confusing me with the original post.  I am not a surfer, just an information seeker.  I don't know anything about the Barranquilla agencies, but would like to learn.  After reading Keith's post, I went to check the CCL website and noticed that it didn't seem to be updated; so I was hoping he would have some more specific info to share about his positive experience with CCL.  Wouldn't you agree that an agency (or any other firm that solicits business over the internet) that doesn't update its site raises a "red flag"?

Amigo,
It's true there appear to be few marketing geniuses in the MOB business. You would think that common sense would tell them to update their sites, with fresh faces, however whether due to lack of technical skills or too busy running other businesses--its a common situation for the smaller agencies. I would only consider it a yellow flag.

Most importantly is do you get a prompt courteous response when you e-mail or call them with your questions?

One of the advantages of this forum is for veterans to pass on their experience. As Keith is a legit veteran I would take his personal recommendation over any flashy web site.

If you're set on going to Barranquilla, make your reservations and go. You can check out all three agencies in person before signing up; maybe you can negotiate a day rate at each and use them all. If Gulf War II goes off, they'll be begging for your business.

Good luck and send us a trip report when you get back with your recommendations.

THANKS, NW Jim!!!!! Remember, I'll be in BAQ from March 1 to March 8. Even though I've been there before, this will be my first experience during "Carnaval" time. I'm looking forward to it. Later.
