I am Colombian married with an American , I am new in this forum, although I have already read it many times.  
I would like to share with you my experiences like Latin in this country that we feel when we arrive to this country and this way, if you have some doubt I could help you in what is possible with my opinion.  
 
Another very important thing that I would like to advise you is that............  be careful with what you say because every day there is but Latin women reading this forum and the opinion that have every day of the foreigners is more deteriorated, although there are some that are very educated and careful with what they say.  
 
I know many of those "foreigners that write here in this forum and some say truths and others say many lies of their experiences, because thanks to God I have had the opportunity to see the two faces of the currency.  
 
In any event if I can help you with my opinion......... All are welcome.

I'm glad that you decided to post, and if you could share some information to help myself and others.

I realize that you may decide not to post much more later in the future, but your advice for the time being is welcomed.

I am not married yet, but I am starting a relationship with a nice girl from Cali. Where are you from in Colombia?

I speak pretty good Spanish. I'm 27, I really like the different cultures in Colombia, and I have many Colombian friends in the US. We are like family.

I am very out going and friendly, and I like to have fun. I am looking for a serious relationship. I would like to get married in about 2 or 3 years.

I am very cautious meeting the women, and I try to be a gentleman. I like to go out to listen to salsa, eating dinners, exercising, movies, and spending time with the girls and their families.

On this board, I share allot of personal experiences, and lately I have been making jokes about meeting women. Not bad dirty jokes, but jokes about how gringos can be more relaxed and out going meeting women.

Most of the Latinos I know are very fun people, and when they are with friends they don't like to be overly serious about things, and they are relaxed.

I think what would help more gringos in their search for partners is to learn more Spanish, and be more relaxed with the women to get to know them and their families. Many men, and I can understand this to a degree, feel defensive in some ways because there are some bad agencies and some bad women. So because of this, they don't trust the people they meet. I think the same about the Latinas in the agencies. There are many good women who don't trust many of the men because of things that may have happened with them and other men, or because of stories from their girlfriends with other men. I understand this.

I think this is bad because it makes good people to lose interest in meeting other good people. I'm a good guy, and I'm trying my best to meet the right person, but I'm going to be very selective with meeting women.

I am from Cali...... I Agree with what you have written, there is Latin that have had very bad experiences with foreigners (and among those I don't count myself), I have ended up knowing very good girls that have wanted to have a serious relationship without thinking that it is it that the "gingo" can offer them....... but pitifully the things never work like one wants....... and I have also known "gringos" very good people that don't deserve what some women make (to be alone for interest of papers or money)...... I end up having many as friends and to tell them like she is or  was the woman (depending on what I had already seen and listened). I used to frequent Latin - internet and there like in all the agencies people realize all that happens..... as well as you, the women also realize everything....... I have had listened histories that I cannot sometimes believe.  
Hopefully the things go out you very well with your girlfriend in Cali...... "what will be for one will be"  
 
I hope to continue offering you my opinions, without offending anybody.

Thank you for posting!!. I have been hoping for a long time that some latin ladies would post here and that would be the best perspective for me and others. I would also like to say that a good majority of the "men" who post here are immature and most of the posters here are not a good example of an American man. I dont look to defend anyone but just to let the latin ladies know this board is the worst example of behavior. I do still come to read here because there is some good advice posted form time to time and i personally appreciate the gentlemen who post it and it would now be just absolutely ideal to here from latin ladies on this whole process.Just be thick skinned and avoid the "go backs" childish arguing like i will no doubtedly have to hear about from my words and your fine to express opinion. Thank you again so much! :)

I understand you in something of what you say, although not you that experience has with this forum...... I have already read several topics that they entangled me the nerves of some people that  doesn't know truly as saying the things, but separate here people that has been respectful have also seen...... But I understand you...... Like Aaron says here you found of everything!  
I know that you won't make me feel not well here for your words.

of alone agencies I can recommend you Latin - internet.......... I was not inscribed in many agencies.... Although if I have listened to speak of almost all........ I Believe that the new one where Maritza works it is very good to that the women there are all new ones and you didn't find them in all the agencies (that which is good)

Sabe que? no tengo novia ahorita, termine una ralacion bonita de 4 anos con una muchacha bien bacana pero el destino tuvo otros planes.  Me encanta las Calenas(a quien no?) pero la verdad es que muy pronto voy a viajar a Barranquilla or Cartagena porque es uno de mis suenos que quiero realizar. Si, esta bien estaremos en comunicaciones. Ademas tengo unas fotos para entrecambiar. Tolima, si mi papa quiere mucho al "capital" departarmento musical de Colombia. Nos cuenta de los Bundes y San Juaneros. De el gran duo de Garzon y Collazos. Me gusta aprende mucho sobre Colombia. My question is "what is a good example of an American man?"

I don't believe all American men, even Colombian men, are the same. We are all individual people, with our own way of living, thinking, and feeling.

Actually, I think this is a positive thing about the PL board because there is diversity in the attitudes and perspectives, even maturity levels (LOL!!!), of the people.

I think Latinas should be aware that American men, any kind of men for that matter, can be different and should not generalize about them. And gringos should be aware of this about Latinas, too.  

I think a really bad mistake a gringo could make is to go to the first agency, with the naive impression that ALL LATINAS are decent, GOD fearing, home loving, loyal, unselfish, and non-materialistic women. This simply is not true because people are people. The same thing for Latinas. A bad mistake for them would be to believe that ALL GRINGOS would make good husbands, faithful, respectable, intelligent, kind, caring, and financially secure gentleman. Now, you and I definitely know this isn't true.

I agree with you about unnecessary arguing. I don't get involved in much of that. And if I say something that get people upset, I apologize.

Which ones are good agencies? Can you give me any advice which would help me to find a nice colombian wife. What city is the best for looking for a wife? I hope you can help me. Thank You.

CLAY  I am inclined to agree with you about the smell. I don't know if the connection is to our ex fantasy poster,Hilton. It seems to me, the choice of adjectives and adverbs are more american than colombian and the mispellings seem deliberate. But this list is about fantasys and often our members are into role playing rather than admitting who they are. Soooo  zzzzz  knock yourself out, you will step on it eventually, if you know what I mean and I think you do. JIM C

PS I am still suspicious of jessie melandro. I wonder if these guys dress up when they change personalities.

Latin Best and Latin Love Mates are two good agencies in Cali.

Latin Best is good because the owner Luz Amparo and staff (Patricia), are very careful with matching people for introductions, and they are very careful about both the men and women that use the services. Latin Best is the agency that has been around the longest in Cali. The prices are not overly expensive. There is a wide selection of women to meet.

Latin Love Mates is a fairly newer agency, of about 4 or 5 years old. It's a little more expensive, but there is a wider selection of women to meet. The manager, Martha, is a really nice lady, and she is careful about the girls and men. One thing I will say about Latin Love Mates is that the website may be a little out dated because it has many profiles, and it takes a long time to go through all the profiles to see who is not available anymore. But, I don't think this should stop you from visiting and even using there services. The website of Latin Best isn't as large, so if you see a girl there, you can be sure she's still available.

However, I really don't look at the websites anymore, and when I do, I just consider the profiles as a "sample of possibilities for the types" of women to meet. Girls come and go all the time, so really it isn't wise for a guy to get their hopes up over a girl on the website that they haven't met in person because by the time he travels to the agency to meet her, she may be with someone else.

The cities...it depends on your personal taste. I like Colombia, and the cities in general. But, the cities I enjoyed best for meeting women are Cali and Bucaramanga. There's allot of beautiful women in Bucaramanga, and many Colombians say this, plus the gringo competition isn't as high in other cities. There are a couple agencies there, and the city is nice. I never been to Bogota, but I would have liked to visit there to meet women. I met a really nice and attractive girl in Cali. Everything is going fine, and I think we are starting a relationship. So, I don't think I will be looking for anymore women.

Another thing is to learn Spanish. You can go slow about it, but just make the effort and you will be very happy with the results.

Latin Love Mates was the worst agency, I've used.
So many no shows. 7 no shows out of 10.
The books are out dated also.
The USA owner divorced his Cali wife who used to run the agency in CAli, and it went downhill.

Latin Best or Latin Internet far superior in service.

Latin Best is the best in Cali,great selection.  Latin Love Mates has a few good looking girls in the books but could only muster up 50% of my picks and the pictures in the books tricked me, they were ugly girls with magic photos in the agency books.  I met 70 girls at Latin Best ranked them all and the best one from Latin Love mates was my #7 choice.  The agency has no business being in business.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't have one "no show" at Latin Love Mates. And the manager told me who was available and who wasn't. Dates were confirmed before I paid the money.

My opinion about the Americans or of the American culture....?.....  I cannot complain.....  I do marry a great man and his family have been very well.  
 
The latinas put opinions here,i do not know why..?...... for an year I have tried to put my messages and the truth I believe that they don't allow them to expose their ideas in this forum.
