Title: Victoria Secret disses Mexico Post by: MarkInTx on April 30, 2002, 04:00:00 AM From the For Whatever It's Worth Department:
OK... strange post... but something I just came across (never you mind HOW or WHY...) This is a list of countries that Victoria Secret will NOT ship to: Cuba ... and ... Mexico Wow! Mexico is up there with Cuba and Iraq! How strange... I'm assuming Colombia is OK, since it's not on the list. Kinda strange... I think all the major malls in Cali have a Victorias Secret, plus other stores with sexy womens apparel. Why they are not in Mexico I don't know,Iran,Iraq I can understand. Colombianas love to dress in sexy attire. You see lots of bare midrifts and navels(more than warrented by the shape of some of them). We were walking through Chipi Chapi (a mall) in Cali one time,my wife, myself and a Colombian friend. We passed this store that had a manikin with padded butt panties. My wife called attention to it.I told her she didn't need those and I would have been real disapointed if she had taken off a pair on our wedding night. My Colombian friend laughed like hell and had to translate it to her. They probably have stores there, and under the terms of whatever agreement allows them to do that they would not ship. Takes business away from the local store operators, plus they don't have to worry about customs, extra taxes and theft/loss in the mails. I used to work for another major US mail order Title: To be specific Post by: MarkInTx on April 30, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Victoria Secret big in Colombia, posted by Pete E on Apr 30, 2002

Ah Ha,ship to.Now I understand a little better, but I think Colombia would fall in to the same catagory. The mail is not safe in some countries.Colombia is one of them.If you send anything of value there is a good,as in almost certain, chance it will be stolen. Maybe they ship with an express shipping Co.,like UPS.UPS will not steal it but Colombian customs, who open everything might.I foolishly sent $500 cash to Colombia in a UPS envelope.I figured nobody opens it,right?Wrong. After several calls to UPS someone told me Colombian customs opens everything and they most likely stole it. If some countries, including Colombia, ever hope to join the first world, they will need to clean up corruption in Police and goverment officials.Thats going to be a long time changing, its considered perks of the job. I bet that customs crew quit work and headed for the nearest bar when they got my $500. Pete |
