Title: Fun facts for Colombia Travelers Post by: Cali vet on December 13, 2001, 05:00:00 AM These figures are for January through October 2001:
Total kidnappings, all sources: 1063 German 5 (I met the Dutchman a week before he was kidnapped near Popoyan) Imagine one of the two Americans was “strikingviking” who was just released. Antioquia (Medellin) had the most: 488 Cuidado hombres Title: Most of those locations are states Post by: Patrick on December 14, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Fun facts for Colombia Travelers, posted by Cali vet on Dec 13, 2001
With the exception of Bogota, I believe everything was broken down by state. I would assume the cities themselves (Cali, Medellin, etc.) would have a lower incidence of kidnappings than the rural areas. Do you have any additional information? Perhaps a link to the source? Thanks, Patrick Title: Re: Most of those locations are states Post by: Cali vet on December 14, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Most of those locations are states, posted by Patrick on Dec 14, 2001
The nationalities of the kidnapped are published on page 30 of edition #1,018 of Semana Magazine citing Fondelibertad as the source. The source is www.antisecuestro.gov.co. Go to statistics. Figures are given for all departments where there were kidnappings. Incidents by city are given for some but not all departments. Cali for example had 81 kidnappings so far this year. Atlantco is not broken down by city so there aren't specific figures for Barranquilla. Kidnapped persons are even identified by profession including "foreigner". |
