No. I'm kicking around a lot of ideas about where to live for a while, including some of the southern cities. I stopped by a travel agency last night and they quoted me 77,000 pesetas+tax (about $400) Valencia to Madrid to São Paolo, so the cost of getting there is pretty reasonable. exit/entry fees are added to the ticket tax, add another $95 to the ticket price Title: Re: Re: Re: Brazillian Travelers Post by: HappyIdiot on November 27, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Brazillian Travelers, posted by pack on Nov 27, 2001
I'm looking forward to hearing how Brazil works out for you. I wonder if there is anyone else around that will have gone the correspondence/Brazil route and the agency/Cali route? much more difficult in almost all respects 1) no agencies, cali-style at least personal point of view 8) if a woman is uneducated, living away from home, sharing a small apartment with 3 or 4 other women, sending money home to support a child, has no visible means of employment, i'd pass on her, as she is probably "on the program"
Title: Going to Brazil?...Learn some Portugese Post by: Hoda on November 27, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Re: Brazillian Travelers, posted by HappyIdiot on Nov 27, 2001
Fluency isn't require, you probaly can get by with some spanish. But just like in spanish speaking S.A. If you can speak/understand some of the language, it'll open some more doors for you. Many of the ladies will appreciate the attempt...especially in Brazil. From what my buddies have told me. The reports from Rio, Salvador & Recife, tell me, that the people are very diverse in their appearance & in their attitudes. Do some homework. NO! DO ALOT OF HOMEWORK. Brazil is very different from the rest of S.A. I believe the correspondence route is the best way to go, if your Portugese is weak or non-existent. You can free lance down...LAWD, can you freelance down there...LOL!! BTW, the cost of going down there has dropped dramatically. Good Luck....
