Title: Cali Scam Alert!!!! Post by: Traveller on November 14, 2001, 05:00:00 AM There is a guy in Cali, right now who is running a scam off his website. The
website address is: http://www.agency-colombia.com. The guys name is Markus Hurlimann. He is from Switzerland. His website offers rooms at a lovely place for only $15 a night. Plus, he wants you to send a deposit before you come. Here is what he offers: Stay in our villa and have your own private room with double-bed, cupboard, closet, table, chair, alarm-clock, private bathroom with hot shower and toilet and much more. Fresh towels and bed sheets are changed daily or at your convenience. You may also use our Internet facilities and check your emails at no costs. Our TV has cable with hundreds of channels in various languages (CNN, CNBC, HBO, and so on). We provide 24 hours security service in our villa We'll folks, this place does not exist. The house, by his own admission, is in Cuba. And, the address and phone number in the Contact Us section is My Latin Women's. Norman, the owner of My Latin Women, had no knowledge of this. This guy has no agency or house. Also, there is a guy staying at My Latin Women who bought into this and was promised the World by Marcus. Marcus asked Norm if he could pick up this German guy who was coming in, becasue Marcus was travelling to Ecuador. Norm picked him up and it turned out to be an American. The American was promised this great house with a pool and with breakfast for only $10 a night. (You can take a look at the website and see what he was promised. Although, he has changed his price to $15 a night.) Marcus wasn't even here to meet the guy as he had promised to do. Then the guy gets here and finds out that the wonderful place shown on the website did not exist. Norman cut the guy a break and the told him that Marcus would return in a few days. Yeah, he returned alright .When the American questioned him about where the house was and where his $10 a night room was, Marcus replied that he had to change houses. I caught that and told Marcus to tell the American the truth. He did and told him that the place did not exist and neither did the services advertised. But, he promissed to make everything right with the American. I told him that he should pay the American $150 that he owed him and to meet any girls he had for free. He readily agreed to this. And, the next day, Marcus left. He did not do one thing for the American who came here because of what Marcus promised. Just to clarify, even though Norman's address and phone number or on this scammers site, he is not affiliated with him in anyway. So, beware travelers and don't buy into Marcus'website. You can get a private room at Dave's Hostal at Clle 17N #9AN-39 (tel:6612338) for $6. It's a nice house just off Av. Sexta and close to allcolombian girls and latin encounters. Owner's a young Brit. |
