Title: The Best Way to Send Money Abroad Post by: Adan on November 15, 2001, 05:00:00 AM I want to share something with everyone. The best way to send money is to order a Union Plus Cash Card. It is a MasterCard "debit card". Just like a regular credit card, except you load whatever amount of cash on it whenever you want. You check the balance and transaction history online. You control it totally. And you can have the card mailed to you or the recipient. The only fee is a $2.00 load charge whenever you add funds. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread, you will love it. It is much simpler than the Visa Buxx card. And cheaper. I give one to all of my women, and can see what the little sneaks have been up to.
Just go to: www.unionpluscashcard.com Title: Re: The Best Way to Send Money Abroad Post by: Sol on November 15, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to The Best Way to Send Money Abroad, posted by Adan on Nov 15, 2001
Hmmm.... I've looked at the Union Plus web-site and the Visa Buxx site. Both systems ding you with fees for things like depositing money into your own account. What a racket!!! It seems that the plain old simple ATM card is the way to go with the caveat that you find a bank that won't allow overdrafts and that doesn't ding you for fees. I've got a local bank here (Washington Mutual) that provides free checking accounts with free ATM cards with no minimum balance to stay free. If you don't have such a bank then it might be cheaper to get one of these preloaded cash cards. In my case I might be able to have two accounts with the same back and move money electronically into the second account. Before signing up for Visa Buxx or Union Plus check all the fine print. There are fees and restrictions you should be aware of. Sol |
