my name is mayra,
i live in california, i has being living here for about 2 years and half, I think that is very nice two people from differents cultures sharing life, is a great experience.  I am 22 years old.  My ex-husband was 38. When i was married i did experience and apreciated how is the american culture which helped me to learn to be more hard working but without abandon my morals,i learn new languaje,i learn to love and acept another culture,missing my culture but borrowing another. American people is very focus in goals for the future and that is my favorite part, latin woman look for someone with specifics goals and latin woman helps to make it true. i learn from how to cook American food which is international to how to organize my schedule which is something that latin people needs in general.

Being married with a latin woman, can be good or can not.  it just depend of the amount of love and faith that each one carry  and more the respect with hand helpfull between their lives.

what do you thing about being married with a latin woman?

Hola Myrna,
I am surprized that no one asked the most obvious questions.
Why are you now divorced?
Where the reasons for the divorce appearant before the marriage?
If so, why did the two of you marry?
If not, what efforts did the two of you make to save the marriage?
You stated that there are cultural adjustments to make.
Were those adjustments part of your problems?
If so, what were they?
I know these are personal questions. The answers could be very helpful to those of us seeking a latina mate or recently married.

Thanks Mayra for sharing your thoughts.  Good luck in your search.  But I am curious.  Now only if you care to answer...can you tell me what qualities that you or the typical Colombiana look for in a potential gringo husband.  And also comment on what characteristics would discourage you from being interested in someone.  Did you meet your ex-husband in an agency...or through mail correspondence? And lastly...if you could comment on the differences in age between the gringo and lady..how many years different is acceptable to you and other Colombianas(in general)?  Thanks in advance..and good luck.

Hello Mayra - I live in Denver, Colorado now but I lived in the San Francisco bay area for around 27 years.  I grew up around the Los Gatos and Saratoga area and lived for awhile in Scotts Valley which is near to you in Capitola.  I still have 3 brothers and many friends that live in San Jose.  I enjoy visiting there.

I am currently engaged to a Caleña so I do not yet know about being married to a latin woman.  She is coming here to the USA in about 3 weeks.  I have known her about a year and a half and she is a wonderful woman.  So far our relationship has been just about perfect.  Now we are ready for the next step of living together, even though we only have 3 months before we have to get married due to the K1 visa.

I also had a relationship with a Colombiana who is living in Caracas before I met my fiancée.  I think that for most of the men here on Planet Love, we think that latin women are generally the best women.  That is my opinion since I have gotten to know some latin women.  Every person is an individual, but I am speaking generally.  Their strong family values, loyalty, beauty and many other characteristics are like a breath of fresh air for us.
