Title: Metric temperatures conversion
Post by: Hamlet on August 28, 2001, 04:00:00 AM
All,

The conversion formula for Fairenheit to Celsius that I remember from 8th grade science class is 5F = 9C + 160.

When I travel abroad it would be nice to have some easier - even if less specific - formula that would let me convert temperatures in my head quickly when I hear the weather report for the day.

Any suggestions?

For celsius to Fairenheit:  F = (9/5)*C + 32

For Fairenheit to Celsius:  C = (5/9)*(F - 32)

Or http://www.worldwidemetric.com/metcal.htm

And some electronic translators have a built in function for doing it.
