Title: Anyone been to Memphis INS office? Post by: Red Clay on September 01, 2001, 04:00:00 AM My wife just received the letter from Memphis district INS office telling her to come and get her work auth. document. The letter says to bring passport, other photo ID, INS receipt showing that she has paid for the filing. Is this also an interview to establish legit relationship? We will probably take a bunch more docs with us just in case. Anyone who has been there lately please tell me about your experience there.
Thanks! Title: Re: Anyone been to Memphis INS office? Post by: Michael B on September 01, 2001, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Anyone been to Memphis INS office?, posted by Red Clay on Sep 1, 2001
Can't help you in reguards to RECENTLY. We did my (now-ex) wife's AOS there back in 1982. The guy halfway looked at our papers and spend most of the time telling us about his vacation in Costa Rica (where she is from). Of course having our 2 month old son with us didn't hurt, he said something like "well, obsivously THIS is not a 'paper' marriage". (I guess most of them don't go to the touble of having a baby just for the green card, ja ja). And only asked us one or two questions then gave us her approval papers.
