Title: A little known fact about Colombian Martial Arts
Post by: JunFan on July 29, 2001, 04:00:00 AM
Many forget about Colombian martial arts. Have you ever heard of the Colombiana Death Grip? Basically it is a very aggressively applied lip lock, similar to the arm-bar but applied to the lips. They have perfected this technique, it is passed on from mother to daughter. The more proficient are able to maintain the lock for days, if needed. It is derived from the Anaconda snake indegenous to the Amazon basin. Usually you don't realize you are in trouble until it is too late, as it usually starts out feeling like a normal kiss. Since they have you in this lip lock, you are unable to rehydrate yourself and you eventually die after a few days. The only countermeasure is an IV, preferably attached to your back soas not to encumber any activities.

Be careful down there.

Mike:
Yes, having an interest in the martial arts, I witnessed the technique being applied while on my last trip.  Funny, the victims did not seem to be in great pain; as a matter of fact, they seemed to be enjoying the experience.
It can be a jungle down there..............cuidate!

There's also the "Colombiana Vice" once drawn into position...one becomes trapped in a vice like grip...causing loss of blood flow to the brain....leading to disorientation and loss of equlibrium...then combined with the deadly "Colombiana Lip Lock" one falls hopelessly under their spell....vowing never to look back on days gone by.

We don't know yet how it is passed down from mother to daughter because most people who are witness to this technique do not live to tell about it. And if the victom is lucky enough to survive, he is usually reduced to some form of baby talk babble...a mere shell of his former self.

Why do you think alot of families are minus the husband? The Colombian men are especially vulnerable to this technique as their machismo mentality often gives them a false sense of security. And of course, the counter (IV) is not readily available down there. UNICEF is looking into IV airlifts to the more dangerous areas of Colombia.

Be careful, there are other derivatives of this technique that may have already spread to neighboring Venezuela and Brazil.
