Title: Barranquilla: Lodging & Agency Info? Post by: John O on August 12, 2001, 04:00:00 AM Well, I'm back in the saddle again after a rest. None of my Caleņa ladies worked out, and Latin Connections went under, so I decided to try the correspondence route again. Now I'm off to visit a few of my new friends in Barranquilla, a city I've never visited. I only have the week before Labor Day.
Please let me know about places to stay: moderately priced, secure and centrally located, if possible. Also, what are the good agencies in Bqlla., who runs them, & what do they cost? Also, what are the better agencies in Cartagena? Thanks so much! I promise a trip report. Suerte... John O. Title: Re: Barranquilla: Lodging & Agency Info? In BAQ as you finish with customs, you will be walking along the glass wall where people are waiting, take a right and walk toward the glass cubical, about 100 feet for a ticket to ride to your hotel, with an airport taxi. It will have the price in pesos and dollar. This will assure you a price and the taxi will be from the airport. You pay the driver when you arrive at the hotel the ticket price. In March the price to Hotel Country Northe was 12500 pesos or about 6 dollars. Many young kids will want to help you with your luggage for a fee. There is not too many interesting sites in BAQ. Consider going to Cartagena and Santa Marta. By bus is very reasonable. Recomend, travel only in the day time to be on the safe side. About 5000 pesos one way for bus fare. Usually the Buses have Air,Tv toilet, and refreshments.More room than a greyhound. Any questions, let me know. Good luck, Rico |
