Well they shouldn't be to disappointed...sure it takes longer and it ain't flyin...but hey...a Bus Trip can be alot of fun and gives her a chance to SEE the USA in A Chevrolet...no opps..in a Bus..LOL..but it's certianly more fun I would think than a Bus Ride that long in Colombia. Anyway Tell them I said Hola and Cograts. Diego, Larry is a great guy.I met he and Nidyan in Cali over Christmas.I think they will do fine. A bus ride from Miami to Dallas is not a good first impression of the US for Nidyan. These girls tend to go through huge adjustment issues and thats a bad start.Knowing Larry he probably feels bad about it.They will get over it and it will make a good story someday. Seems like the Embassy is getting easier for Americans. Not so for the Colombians. My brother in law had an appointment for a tourist visa yesterday. He even had a work related training class to attend, but they turned him down flat. The guy at the window told him they were told not to issue tourist visas, nobody seemed to be getting one.I think all the ammnesty deals under consideration(for people who are already here) has made them tougher on letting anyone new in.Spousal and fiancee visas being an exception, since they are filed by an American. I think it is a good first impression. She gets to see more of her new country, and realize not all Americans are loaded. Hey, at least the bus will not be pulled over by communist guerillas. I think the problem is after several hours on a plane they get on a bus for what is probably a 16-30 hour bus trip, pretty much non stop.No beds,no showers, not much sleep. The country may be pretty and if you were driving 8 hours or so and stopping it could be OK. Yes nothing like a Colombian bus trip.My brother in law went from Cali to Popoyan for a wedding last Friday and they haven't heard from him since. My wife says the rebels will stop buses and pick out guys and force them to join up with them.He will probably just wander in,my wife isn't too worried although the rest of the family is.
