Hello to all:

I would appreciate any adviced from those who have gone before me, I am a 40 yo Aussie male who is interested in meeting that special latin woman,I guess I am in the process at the moment of thinking about doing it but have all the doubts I guess most people go through and don't want to be ripped off by any unreputable agencies. I am also glad I read this board as I did not realise how difficult it might be, the other reason I am after advice is because I am hoping to minimise trips to South America because of the cost, coming from Australia, our dollar is worth half that of the U.S dollar so it will cost me twice as much for everything, but if I met the right woman then that wouldn't matter but then there are no gaurentees in life are there ? So all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mal, There is a large latin sect living there in Austrilla(I think Sydney). You should try to get in contact with some of them via icq ,chat,or message boards.The latins are known for large families .I am sure whoever you talk to has family still abroad such as sisters,sisters in law, aunts or what have you. This can help you a great deal in your search.

Hi Mal,

If you are travelling that far, I would recommend that you spend a fair amount of time, two to three weeks.  Believe me one week goes super fast!  Be careful, don't jump into the deep end just because your time is running out and you need to "score" a wife before you go home to justify your trip.  You will likely need two or three trips at a minimum anyway.

Since you are an Aussie, you may not speak Spanish, but you must be able to carry on a reasonable conversation with a latina (both phone and in person), or you will get nowhere fast.  Very few ladies speak any English at all.  Remember that ladies are usually working several gringos at the same time, so not speaking Spanish is a huge disadvantage.

well, this list is very columbian oriented, so keep that in mind. there are plenty of services out there on the web, that you can check out for free.the problem i have with columbia and this list. is the violence and poverty in columbia, leads to desperation, which CAN (not always) lead to a mistake of good intentions by the woman you meet. i have no experience with the agencies in columbia, but the concept is novel.since you are in austrailia, consider argentina or brazil. i recently was looking at a web page devoted to brazilian women, and i was very impressed. my personal experience is in the caribbean, so that seems rather far for you. feel free to email, if i can be of further help
