In defense of my boy Kxxxy, I know more about the entire situation than any other, outside of the two in the relationship (Kxxxy & his former novia). To judge him on hearsay is totally inappropriate and misleading. The relationship didn't work out so he's moving on. So should she. He spent more than a year with this woman and visited her numerous times. Let me tell you something that many people don't know about him.....he is on his second passport because he travels to Colombia so much (doesn't hurt that he lives in the Miami area). His experiences in Cartegena alone towers over me (and I am working on double digits visits). He has been detained by the Colombian National Police because of his travels. I have been with him many times on his trips where we all doubled dated. Just as well as my wife knows your novia, she knows his former novia. She agrees that is wasn't a perfect fit. Hounddog, et al: It is amazing how we hear one side of the story and run with it. I'll bet that no one will ever realize how much time and energy kxxxy put into the relationship or how many times he asked his girlfriend to handle things a little differently not to his satisfaction. It is one thing to have a girlfriend, it is another to take someone away from their country with the intention of marrying them. To do the latter we should be sure or just not bother. Kxxxy sent his girlfriend money every month and asked her to prepare a list of expenses that they could both look at and do money managment together. She never did and the monthly expenses were never the same in any two months. There exists a wonderful word called a "budget". When asked to sit down with him and go over the expenses he was told that she didnt; think it was fair to have to do this When Kxxxy's girlfriend lost her job, Kerry stepped in and told her that he would make sure that she had a roof over her head and could eat and took care of this (just about)every month for 14 months). When Kxxxy and his girlfriend tried to fill out K-1 visa papers Kxxxy had to spend $300 sending papers back and forth through DHL because his girlfriend had difficulty filling them out. Kxxxy went down to Cartagena to pick up these papers himself and helped her fill them out ...This was after walking her through the papers on the phone (blank ones)and ones that were pre filled out. After which realizing that he didn;t have the same confidence in his girlfriend that he once had Kxxxy asked his girlfriend to sit down and come up with a checklist of things to take care of if she would be leaving her family ... never happened. Kxxxy sent down money to put a telephone in her house .... was received .. but there still is no telephone in the house 5 months later .... Kxxxy gave his girl a portable computer to communicate less expensively than phone .... for some reason the girlfriend could never manage to connect to the internet at the agreed on time .. often times oversleeping and arriving online 3-4 hours after the agreed upon time .... The list could go on and on ... BOTTOM LINE .... When a man is searching for a wife it is somebody that he can work together with and can trust to raise a family with. If he doesn;t have the confidence to do this it is better to terminate the relationship (like it would be on the woman's side). Kxxxy is no saint, but you do not have any idea about what happened in this relationship. And you should not comment on that. Kxxxy has tried to let this girl know that he wanted to see other people over the last 4-6 months .... In actuality they had a conversation in April of 2000 about this .... Who's shoulder is Kxxxy going to cry on? Noone's ... he has picked up the ball and is moving forward. In this thing we are doing there are no promises and no guarantees .. we do the best we can .... You have not done anything to Kxxxy.... business as usual for him. Continuing the search .... And enjoying friendships and beautiful women along the way. If you thought you had cause to print this be a man ... print the names OR don;t print them, but always you should check out the other side of the story if you are going to print what you did ... I have no problem with you typing out my name Hounddog. If I remember correctly, you have been the initiator of some other not so pleasant threads on other discussion boards. But you should have all the facts straight before you "rush to judgement". Hound Dog: Self admitted what? You can look through the archives .. I have never said I was a "playa". The only statement even remotely resembling that is a response I made to women down there liking "bad boys" sometimes. To HD, This is a good post, and I appreciate it because during the last couple of days there have been posts that have talked about scams played by Latinas. However, no one ever brings up the topic about how many playboys are trying to hustle the girls in the agencies... and we have to be honest and admitt that these kind of guys exist. Also, I'm sure that many guys that have posted on the board have made some mistakes in this pursuit. I sure have. I didn't know what to expect on my first trip down, and looking back I can easly see how guys can get carried away with this kind of thing. But, I've learned that for the sincere guys, we have to catch ourself, focuss on the utlimate prize of finding a lifetime partner, and don't get cuaght up in the playboy game. It would be easy to go out that way, but then what would we be doing.... hurting girls that trusted us, preying on girls that don't know any better, putting on masks in front of their families, promising them marriage that we have no intention of having, etc., etc., etc.. In the end, what would we have, NOTHING!!!!! And I couldn't live my life with all that baggage, guilt, and hurt. So, I'm sending this out to all the guys lurking around, especially the young ones. This is not a game, and playing with peoples' hearts doesn't lead to anything. It hurts other people, and it will hurt the manipulator in the end. And, I am glad (or I should say thankful to God) that I caught myself and learned not to get caught in the playboy life with these girls. Yes, WE all make mistakes, but there comes a time when maturity needs to set in.
