I'd like to get opinions from the board on which is easier to apply for a fiancee visa here in the us or to go there and marry there and go to Bogota for DCF? A lady who comes to the US on a K-1 visa can get permission to travel out of the country long before she actually finally becomes a permanent resident, which technically can take a couple of years in some cases. The permission is called Advance Parole. The K1 Visa is definately easier to apply for. There are only a small amount of forms compared to the DCF. No apolisations needed on anything, and only 1-2 forms need notarization if I remember correctly. It generally takes 4-6 months...although somebody posted once they got it in 30 days....I still don't believe that...but maybe he was Clinton's cousin? Regards, Houndog |
