Title: Here's a dumb question. Culinary question.
Post by: Traveller on May 05, 2001, 04:00:00 AM
Ok, I consider myself a Veteran of Cali and I have eaten Baby Beef numerous times. But, what is it exactly? Is it just tender beef or is there something else that makes it different from steak or lomitas? Just something that has been on my mind.
And, where is the best place you have had it. Actually, I have to say, for me, Mario Bros.

Since I do farm for a living, it`s baby calves. Very tender and good. Do you like little smokies ? Know what they are ? It`s a whole baby calf gutted, skin removed and them cooked whole. Then ground bones and all. If you guys knew exactly what you are eating in this country, you would think twice before eating it.

Hmmm. that's kind of what I thought. Man, is that stuff good. I've eaten a lot worse in the Marines. Try Jungle Warfare School in Panama and go thru Survival training.
Hey, has anyone been to a place called Porky's in the South on the outskirts of town?  I hear that's a good place. They bring you an entire roasted Pig. I might try that next trip.

The Lomo Viche (baby beef) is good at Rancho de Jonas.  Rancho de Jonas is a popular restaurant right on the auto pista in the south.
