Title: The time has come.....:-)

Hi all,

The time has come for me to return to the Philippines.

I was wondering if anyone could help me in finding an airline consolidator or a site that has the cheapest tickets to Manila, for the month of June. I can leave from orlando, Tampa or Ft. Lauderdale.

It seems prices are up in June, July and August. I may be dreaming, but I would like the transportation part to cost about $1ooo US, if possible. Time is of the essence here. I am going for 3 weeks and wouldn't mind any stopovers. Would like to do one in California if possible.

Thanks all for any help in advance,
Jay

Hey Jay,
It's good seeing you. I went to the Phils last
year for 1375 round trip from Seattle last July.
I can remember back in 81 same flight cost me
       1100.00

Hi Joe,

Thanks. :-) I can believe it, from the airfares I've seen lately. Last time I went was 7/97 and it cost us $1250 round trip from Houston., As it happens, something has come up to delay my trip to The Philippines unfortunately. Just as well, with the price being so high and all. I may be able to go in September, October, somewhere around there. we'll see. Fares will be lower I think.

Good seeing you too joe, :-)

Take Care,
Jay

Jay,
We used this travel agency last time and we were satisfied. Some other members of this board didn't care for them though. Check their web site and see for yourself. We plan to use them again this Fall.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the suggestion. :-) I don't have anything against Ron Perry.  He quoted me $1578 from Orlando. I think that was via JFK to HK on Cathay Pacific. We'll see. Unfortunately, I HAVE to go at this time of year. So darn expensive! :-)

Take Care,
Jay

You can save a lot of money by flying on an Asian based carrier, out of SFO or LAX. I flew China Airlines round trip from SFO to MNL for less than $700, with a stop in Taipei. I had to purchase a seperate flight to get to SFO, and a seperate flight from Manila to Cagayan de Oro, but did the whole thing for under $1100. I saved about $600 this way as oppossed to buying one ticket from Columbus Ohio to the Philippines on Northwest.

Hi Nox,

That's the airline I used to take, with an overnight at the airport hotel In Taipei. I always liked it. When was the last time you did that? What month/Year?

Thanks,
Jay

.......I don't believe this shit. I'm looking at cheap tickets.com, for example,
and the lowest I see is $1200 from the West Coast. Is it a bad time? Been a while since I've made the trip. Where are the cheap tickets?

Jay, haven't you noticed the price of fuel lately? Also, June to August is high season. The rates should go down a few hundred in September-November.

If you want to fly directly into Clark, you might want to check out Asiana via Korea. Also, check Cathay Pacific's All Asia Pass. Cathay also flies into Cebu. How about a stopover in Hong Kong so you can look up Suzie Wong? :-)

Hi Ray,

Yeah, things just went up today! LOL! By hundreds of dollars! :-) Oh well, maybe I'll go through Europe. LOL! I'll figure it out. This is the fun part. A stopover in H. K. would be nice. ;-)

My theory is that for every day Jay spends in HK, that's one less day for him to get into trouble in the PI  :-)

Hi Ray,

LMAO!!! I like your theory. Well, sorry to disapoint you guys, but it looks like I ain't going anyway. I just got my passport, then a knock on the door( I KNEW that knock the second I heard it, in a deep sleep too) changed all that. Now I need a lawyer In South Florida who does DUI cases. No, I'm not drinkin', this is from 11/29/03. The state of Florida finaly arrested me (rather they caught me). What a weird state this is. In Texas, at least they have the decency to arrest you on the spot for DUI, not here in Florida. Sheesh!

Anyway, anybody know a good DUI attorney that practices in South Florida?Seriosly. Stephen, I've lost your numbers, sorry.  I need a lawyer. I'm gonna fight this to the end. I got the money.  ;-)

This sucks. I wanted my trip first.

Take Care,
Jay

Hi Stephen,

LMAO! I have a feeling I'm gonna get into trouble anywhere I go! :-) So far, best offer I have is from Tneal's olvis travel, $1578.00 via JFK to HK/Manila with an 11 hour layover in LA on the way back. Don't know if I'll take it. That's bucoo expensive. I'll keep looking. I would definitly like to see you guys, if possible. :-)

Hi Jeff,

Sounds good. I have my nieghbors' sister, who is  a travel agent in Singapore, saying she can get me $878 + tax ($80-$150). That's about the best I could hope for, I guess. It will cost me $300 Plus to get to LA. About $1200.00 total.
That I can handle.
