Title: Hey Ray
Post by: Howard on September 06, 2004, 04:00:00 AM
R~

Gerlie has a friend here that she met on CB before she got married.  Turns out that she married a guy from very near me, which is great!  I'm glad she will have someone to share expiriences with... another Filipina anyway...

Anyway... the question is...  Her friend wants her to bring a couple 5ths of Emperador.  Can she do that?  As long as they're a gift she's okay right?

I figured you would know... being my personal bottomless pit of knowledge :P  Hehehehehehehheee

Anyway... your thoughts are always appreciated ;)

Keep the Faith!

And Thanks as always for your support!!!

Technically, I believe that she can bring one liter of alcohol duty free. However, they are usually more interested in keeping terrorists out so they are known to be flexible at customs. My wife brought me back five bottles (750ml) of Tanduay Superior 12-year-old rum when she went home last year (hic!). As long as you don’t have commercial quantities and it’s packed in your checked baggage, they tend to let you slide. Even if they do make you pay the duty and revenue tax on the excess, it’s not that much. Maybe a few dollars per bottle(?). Just make sure she claims it on her customs form!

That's what I thought.  I always feel better with a second opinion ;)

Thanks Big Brutha ;)
