Title: uniquely Chinese ? Post by: Windmill Boy on September 18, 2004, 04:00:00 AM Hello All
I just got a quick e-mail from my fiance. She writes that she has been working a fair amount lately and is runnning low on the sleep lately (arn't we all). She is going to Hong Kong for a couple of days for business and pleasure. She will have the opportunity to meet one of my former coworkers from california and her new husband in Hong Kong on their honeymoon. Kat said that she will be greeting them with "Panda Eyes" due to her lack of sleep most likely ha ha ha. Is that Chinese of what. While we are still waiting for packate 3 to be processed and the arrival of packate 4 and an interview date we are trying to arm Kathryn with as much materials for her interview as we can. Just this week I mailed her all of our early e-mails from september to december from last year. I sent her all of the phone bills and all of the tickets and recepts from my trip to china last february. I have also had some family members and my minister write letters on our behalf and my coworker is composing a letter and will give it to kathryn. We are arming ourselves for the upcoming interview since I only had the opportunity to meet her once and they might question this and the validity of our relationship. What can I say except the post office is making a fortune off of me with the mailing costs. Eric, The long wait will come to a good end. I know, I married my wife and then waited two years before she came to the U.S.A.. Small steps lead to long journeys. Be strong and all will be well. Now, Take care and God Bless, Surigao Ken Title: ahh Grasshopper Post by: Windmill Boy on September 19, 2004, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Windmill, posted by Surigao Ken on Sep 19, 2004
Ken Thanks for the encouragement. As I got out of work tonight I can begin to feel the nip in the air and I can see my breath, so I realize that the plan and time frame we have is still appropriate. Her arrival here in March / April hopefully will allow her to enjoy the summer and get acclimated to upstate New York. We actually had a very cool summer this year hardly got into the 80's while she had many days above 100 F in southern China. I do not know if it will make up for next winter but I want to let her at least enjoy some summer next year here before the 6 months of winter. I think it is best that she passes on the winter of 2004 - 2005 at least. Patience is a virtue. ERIC Title: Good thinking Eric. Having her spend her first few months in the US as winter in Buffalo, might just sour her whole experience. I had a friend from San Diego move to Ft Wayne, Indiana in the fall a few years back for a job. His wife lasted til January before she packed her things and flew home. I grew up in Minnesota and always used to say that the summers were great, but if you were sick that day, you missed out on the whole thing. - Jeff |
