Nate, Stamps for what? For your lady to send you a letter? Just send her a few dollars it would be easier for her to buy them directly in the Philippines than for you to buy them here and mail them to her. If your talking about collectible stamps. Try Ebay. Cheers Title: Re: Re: stamps Post by: outwest77 on November 13, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: stamps, posted by Dingo on Nov 12, 2003
Just make sure if you send money, send it in a security envelope, never tried it myself but i think they hold all the envelopes up to the light to see if there is money in it, especially the ones from the US Title: a Troll is defined Post by: Matt on November 12, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: stamps, posted by Dingo on Nov 12, 2003
[This message has been edited by Matt] http://alwayswrite.org/archives/2002/11/05/comment_trolls_part_deux.html http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?TrollDefinition "A troll is deliberately crafted to provoke others with the intention of wasting their time and energy. A troll is a time thief." "Trolls are motivated by a desire for attention by people who can't or won't acquire it in a productive manner." As for stamps, from Bob Lingerfelt's site: "The solution is for you to purchase stamps on your pen pal's behalf and then mail them to her. That way you'll encourage her to write you more often, since she doesn't have to worry about buying stamps for your letters, and you don't have to worry about the money you send her for stamps being spent on other things." Um excuse me Matt. I noticed you posted a definition of a Troll under my post about stamps. What was so bad that I said? Sorry didn't mean to take any business away from you Anyway Nate never said exactly what the stamps were for. I've bought Filipino Books, magazines, letters, stamps, If they wanted to they could just take the stamps back Cheers Title: Too Funny! Hi ! Just for trolls, I am not in cahoots with Bob Lingerfelt. His wife is a Filipina, and their family makes very little money from selling stamps to Americans. Mr. Lingerfelt is a very nice gentleman, as I have ordered from him before. It is actually quite common for Filipina ladies to start a penpal business after marrying and moving to the United States. Mrs. Fritzie Flynn in one such Filipina. She was selling 10 P22 stamps for $10. But she has since shut down her website. Perhaps she made so much money (for the troll) that she moved to her mansion on the beach. One could try writing her at: Mrs. Fritzie Flynn One could politely ask her if she has anymore P22 stamps for sale. She is a very nice lady. http://www.jaderune.com/amazon/store.html http://www.all-filipina.com/new/otherservice.html I have not ordered from the above two sites, but they look fine to me. However, a comparsion shows that Bob Lingerfelt's stamps are indeed a good bargain for Americans. He is not ripping off anyone! (for the troll) A search of "stamps Philippines filipino" on Ebay, turned up "NO" P22 stamps for sale that could be used by a penpal. Some folks advise that one should place a dollar bill, folded up, inside of a letter. I am against this because of mail theft, and the fact that one's penpal would have to convert the currency, and then still go to the post office and wait in line. Sending a stamp shows respect and consideration of one's penpal. For those of you just starting out writing to Filipinas, perhaps Jean's book "Filipina Courtship Secrets" would be a good read. http://www.everlastinglove.com/Filipinabook/courtship.htm Besides planet-love's forum, there are 2 other forums, the ASAWA and Mag-Anak forums, but I enjoy planet-love. |
