It's  been  a  little  while  since   I've  seen this  topic  on  the  board so I  thought  would  bring  it up again.

Ive  have  recently  been viewing  web  sites  with  pictures  of  women  from all over asia.   I've  noticed  that  the  women  of  some countries  tend  to post  Professionally  taken  Glamour shots  quite a  bit.    Mainly  women from  China  and  Vietnam.  the women of  the  Philippines  do  to  a  lesser  extent with  Hong Kong and Taiwan  coming  in  next in  frequeny then the  Thai women  and  Koreans  and  Japanese  women  tend  to  pose  in natural settings for  the  most  part -- Quite  a  few Web cam shots however from Korea and Japan  which  are  kind  of  funny to  look  at  ha ha ha.

I've  got to  admit  that  some  of  the  women  to  me  are  absolutely  stunning  in  appearence I especially notice mostly  the  chinese  women  in these  tpes  of  shots.  I  just  wonder  to myself however how many  of  these  women look  too  good  to  be true.    Are they really  so  attractive  in  everyday  life?  If I  were  to  be  shopping in  the local markets  next  to  them would  I  just  drop   my  Jaws  and  start  salivting.  Or  are  these  Glamor shots  really  misleading from  the real McCoys.  One also has  to  ask  if  these  Photos  really  are  of  them  or  of  actresses.

Does any  one  have  any  anctedotes  about  meeting  the  hot  women  especilly  from  those  glamour  shots  and  how  they really  appeared  in  every  day  life.  or even the  incident where  the  women  super seeded you  expectaions  from you  images in the  photos.

 Of the two penpals I met, both very much met my expectations physically.   Yeah, they looked a bit different in person, but we had exchanged so many pictures that I knew what to expect and sure wasn't dissapointed!!

When me and my gf , went to SM megamall in the phils on my last trip, we took one of those picture packages at the
photo shop.

When they are done taking all ur pics, by digital cam, they pull them up on the computer, and digitally erase all ur skin imperfections, etc, so , i have to admit i looked damn good in those photos, hehe, so did my gf, but then again our photos look good naturally with no editing........:o)

In my trips to Russia back in '98, I've seen it work both ways.  One gal I wanted to meet had some fabulous photos.  Total knockout babe, come-hither pout with sparkling eyes, long silky blonde hair.  In person, still long gorgeous hair but rather plain mug and dumpy figure.  Conversely, there was another I made arrangements to meet.  Seemed plain but sweet in her photos.  In person, OHMYGAWD GORGEOUS!  The kind of tall supermodel beauty the guys  on the Russian board love to brag about.  Sadly I felt, while charming company, she had a bit more growing up to do before she would be ready for life in the West.  I got some photos of us together, and she STILL looked plain and simple in the photos, NOTHING like the real thing.  hmmm...

Hi WB,

Just look at photos of some of the most "beautiful" women in the entertainment industry without makeup and see how butt-ugly or plain they really are. I would prefer candid, nonprofessional photos initially. But as others have mentioned, they often look much different than in their photos anyway. I have noticed that some Asian penpal sites feature actresses on their main page. I'm with Ray and would go more for personality and a reasonable appearance, not a supermodel wannabe.

Sex must also sell...check out some of the clubs in the "Latin Agency Links" and look at the photos. Especially the Brazilian clubs. Some of those women are damn near naked (some are). Very hard to think with the big head, when all of the blood has been drained out... 8oP

I  shoulda  known  that  was  coming  a mile  away !!!

After trying  to  figure  out how to call Yukako this  morning  I  finally  suceeded (had to drop the first zero  in her phone  number Area code).

It was a rather successfull first phone call. She  has  a  very  nice  pleasent  sounding  voice  (Soft in pitch,  quiet in volume,  sexy  with  out  trying to  be, yet  firm enough  in  geting  her message  accross)  and  her  English  was quite  good.   I  just  have  to  take  it  slowly speaking  with  her.  We  were  both  a  little  nervous  but  we  mananaged not  to  have  too  much  dead  space  in  the  call --  Ah  what  to  say,  what to  say next !!!

She  mentioned  that  it  is  difficult  to  write  with  me  and  that she  has  to  look  up  some  words in  the  dictionary sometimes.  I  asked her  if  she  wants  me  to  call  more  rather than  write  but  she  seems  up  for  the  challenge of  corresponding also. she  is  a sweet  girl as far as I  can  tell  so  far.

I  have  seen  2  pictures  of  her  on the website.  she  had  a  corporate looking  type  shot at first which I liked  better but  she  replaced it  with  another  picture soon  after  joining the  service.  I  think  she is average looking maybe a 6 or 7.  Would  look  better  if  she got  rid of  that haircoloring tinting  and  highlighting, but that is  only  my preference.

I  just  wanted  to ask  the  glamour shots  question after viewing  so  many profiles.  It's  fun  to look  at  the  eye  candy  but  to  find  the  woman  with  substance  is more  important.   Just  wanted  to  find out  what everybody  elses  take  on the  Glamour shots was  vs the  Reality when  you  meet  them.

My experience has been that about 90% of the Filipinas that I have met do not look like their photograph.
Most do use some sort of glamour shot. The most common trick seems to be using pics that are overexposed. An overexposed pic will make the face appear much lighter and whiter AND it hides many flaws.  I have met maybe 1 or 2 that look the same as their picture, but the majority of the women do not look the same as their picture.  Many times I have returned from meeting a penpal, and I will look up their photo on the internet, and I still cannot believe it is the same person.  Of course, it is what is in the mind and heart that counts, but the guys that are falling in love with a picture on the internet are looking at very high  odds of the lady they "love" not having the same appearance in person.
