Hi Jun,

I think you mentioned that your flight is on China Airways to Manila? If so, your domestic PAL flight from Manila to Butuan may be classified as a journey entirely within the Philippines and thus have a reduced baggage allowance. Better check with PAL. We always fly PAL from the US to Manila and transfer to domestic for the flight to Butuan. We are allowed 2 bags per person (70 lbs maximum each), and carry-on, domestic from Manila to Butuan.

Dave H.

From PAL Site:

For Journeys to/from the USA and Canada (Piece System)

First Class
Maximum of two (2) pieces with a total dimension of 124 inches (316cms) and no piece exceeding 62 inches (158 cms).  Each piece should not exceed 32 kilograms (70 lbs).

Mabuhay (Business) Class
Maximum of two (2) pieces with a total dimension of 124 inches (316cms) and no piece exceeding 62 inches (158 cms).  Each piece should not exceed 32 kilograms (70 lbs).

Fiesta (Economy) Class
Maximum of two (2) pieces with a total dimension 107 inches (273 cms) and no piece exceeding 62 inches (158 cms).  Each piece should not exceed 32 kilograms (70 lbs).

An infant paying at least 10% of the adult fare is entitled to one piece of checked baggage with a weight of 7 kgs or 15 lbs and the sum of the three dimensions does not exceed 45 inches plus one fully collapsible child's stroller or pushchair.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Journeys to/from other countries other than the USA and Canada(Weight System)

First Class
Weight should not exceed 40 kilograms (88 lbs)

Mabuhay (Business) Class
Weight should not exceed 30 kilograms (66 lbs)

Fiesta (Economy) Class
Weight should not exceed 20 kilograms (44 lbs)

From the Philippines, an infant paying at least 10% of the fare is entitled to 10 kgs checked baggage plus one fully collapsible child's stroller or pushchair.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Journeys entirely within the Philippines

Hi Dave,

I just looked all that stuff up on PAL's site last week also.

When we arrived at the PAL counter in LAX, the only change to what you posted is the part on carry-on baggage. Instead of one carry-on of 7 kilos(15 lbs), PAL allows a total of 20 lbs of carry-on bags.

Hi Ray,

PAL employees kept wanting to weigh my 25lb carry-on (in LA and Manila). I told them that I already did and it was OK.  LOL One guy picked it up and told me I had to check it in. I told him that it was food and drink and wouldn't weigh much when I landed. He let it go.
